In a message to fans on social media on Tuesday, Liam Gallagher compared himself to God.

Liam, 52, who is best known as a member of Oasis, who is reuniting for a world tour later this year, shared the post on Instagram this evening. He was pictured posing for the camera while wearing a black jacket and dark jeans. Both of his hands are behind his head.

Alongside the photo, Liam – who’s used the phrase “biblical” and been referred to as such over the years – shared a message with his followers. He responded, “People frequently ask me, LIAM, do you believe in God, and I say, “Of course, it’s important to have SELF BELIEF,” in the caption.

Since then, the post has since received more than 60, 000 likes on the platform and caused a response in the comments section. One fan teased: “Humble is your second name”. Another person said: “Hahaha! Nice answer LG”.

Whilst a third person wrote in the comments: “Of course, God lives within each other us”. Not everyone seemed impressed over his choice of caption though, with one reply to the post reading: “Blasphemy. Read the Bible”.

Following Liam’s earlier this week question regarding Oasis’ upcoming reunion tour on X, the announcement comes in. Alongside a laughing emoji, a fan asked yesterday: “Liam some people believe Oasis gigs will last only one hour, tell em you were joking”. He responded to them: “Just under 59 mins 59 secs”. Regarding the length of the sets, some fans have since suggested that he was not taking it seriously.

More than a decade after their last tour, the band announced their Oasis Live’s 25 world tour last year, with Liam and his brother Noel Gallagher, 57, who haven’t performed together since 2009. From July, the new tour will begin in the UK and Ireland before moving on to other nations.

Announcing the tour in August last year, a post shared by Oasis read: “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised”. A photo of Liam and Noel was included with the photo.

The release of their debut studio album, Definitely Maybe, which was released in August 1994, coincided with the group’s 30th anniversary. Supersonic and Live Forever, both of which were singles, were also included in the album. It was the first UK official album to reach the top for two weeks after its release.
