One fan was sobbing as a result of Lewis Capaldi’s incredible, transformative act of kindness. After meeting her outside London’s O2 Arena on Wednesday evening, the Forget Me singer quietly donated a sizable sum of money to a fan’s fundraising campaign.

After meeting her outside the venue, the Forget Me singer quietly donated a sizable sum of money to a fan’s fundraising drive. When Lewis, 28, met Maddi Thurgood, a fan with the ultra-rare motor neurone disease SPG15, when he arrived at the venue prior to his sold-out show.

Moments later, Lewis quietly donated £5000 to their GoFundMe Campaign. Maddi told the Daily Star: “Today was truly one of the best days of my life. I was at the O2 with my mum and sister when, out of nowhere, Lewis Capaldi stopped to speak to me.

He smiled as I asked for a photo with him while I was in my wheelchair and came over. He explained that he was working that weekend after my mother informed him that she had been attempting to contact him about our charity football game.

“My mum explained a little about my condition and why we’re fundraising. He asked my name, introduced himself with a smile and said, ‘I’m Lewis, pleased to meet you.’ And within 10 minutes, he had gone on Instagram and donated to our cause.

“We all started crying right away. One of the most lovely things I’ve ever witnessed happened.

This year, Lewis has released some new material. He has done this for the first time since 2023. The singer took a break in June of that year because he felt it was necessary to concentrate on both his physical and mental health.

He described how his diagnosis with Tourette’s Syndrome, along with his anxiety and performance pressure, had been discussed in a Netflix documentary a few months earlier.

Lewis did not compete at the festival or perform until 2024, but he did make an unexpected appearance at Glastonbury this year with his new single Survive, which peaked at six in the UK.
