Gary Busey, a member of the Lethal Weapon film team, admitted to groping a woman’s buttocks at the 2022 Monster Mania convention at the Doubletree Hotel in Camden, New Jersey, and admitted to doing so. He later admitted to doing so.
The 81-year-old actor, who is renowned for his portrayal of Buddy Holly in The Buddy Holly Story, testified before a judge on Thursday in a virtual court appearance to say that “it was not an accidental touching.”
The charges against Busey will be dropped in exchange for his guilty plea, which includes three counts of attempted fourth-degree sexual contact and three of fourth-degree sexual contact.
According to him, it was all alleged that he inappropriately touched five women while photographing him at the convention between August 12 and August 2022.
Is it true that you want to plead guilty to a fourth degree criminal sexual contact today, according to Judge Gwendolyn Blue? and said, “Am I pleading guilty?” No”.
His legal team apologised to him and said “yes!” and Busey responded, “I am”? Okay, I am”. The actor discussed the matter with his attorneys, and the judge responded, “No, no, no that’s not how it works.”
When he was asked again if he wanted to enter a guilty plea, he responded, “Yeah.” He was asked if he could hear the judge, and he responded, “I have hearing aids, and they are working, but they only go so high,” before adding that he could “hear fine.”

He stated once more that he wanted to enter a guilty plea. Blair Zwillman, the actor’s defense attorney, argued that the indictment should be dismissed because there is a rumored “flawful investigation.” Zwillman claimed that some witnesses were not interrogated by the authorities.
The motion was denied by Judge Blue. On September 18, Bussey will receive a sentence that includes one to five years of probation and fines. According to CourtTV, he will also be required to provide a DNA sample and have a criminal record if sentenced.
Busey claimed the women were “making up” the groping allegations a few days after being charged three years ago and that the encounters only lasted for “less than 10 seconds.”
He claimed that none of that ever happened while speaking to paparazzi at the time. I and two girls were present, along with my partner, a camerawoman. They left after less than ten seconds, and then. Then they concocted the claim that I sexually assaulted them.
When the paparazzo inquired as to whether the incident was “true,” Busey replied, “Nothing happened. Everything was false. No way was I inappropriate. I have witnesses.
Days after the 2022 incident, the convention issued a statement. They posted a message on social media saying “Monster-Mania is assisting authorities in their investigation into an alleged incident involving attendees and a celebrity guest at its convention last weekend in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.”
The celebrity guest was kicked out of the convention right away after receiving a complaint from the attendees and told not to come back. Additionally, Monster-Mania urged the attendees to call the police to report an incident.
Monster-Mania values its attendees’ safety and well-being above all others, and the company will not tolerate any behavior that could compromise those values. Monster-Mania will continue to support the authorities wherever and however they can.
