With a stinging 28-6 victory over Red Devils of Salford, Leigh Leopards moved into second place in the Super League standings and three points clear of Hull KR.

Adrian Lam’s elite outfit outperformed Wigan Warriors with its sixth victory of the year.

Although Wigan can return to second place against Hull FC on Sunday, this victory showed that the Leopards might be in line to win the league this year.

A dominant display from AJ Towse, Darnell McIntosh, Matt Davis, and Josh Charnley earned the team a comfortable victory after two tries from Andrew Badrock and one each from AJ Towse, Darnell McIntosh, Matt Davis, and Josh Charnley.

Although their coach may find it difficult to follow their coach, Lam’s outfit are already in the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup and are capable going forward.

With two try assists, one pass, and the other perfectly weighted grubber kick, McIntosh touched down at the heart of the majority of their sharp moves.

After 20 minutes, Leigh put the game back on track thanks to two early efforts from Badrock and Towse.

At the break, Salford, who have lost eight of their nine matches, including four that were goalless, conceded a fourth try with 18-0 down.

After the break, things didn’t immediately improve either, with Leigh receiving possession first and Leigh receiving a fifth Leopards try.

However, to their credit, the home side made an early try and were well-rewarded with a try, with Joe Shorrocks feeding Joe Shorrocks who went over the post.

Adrian Lam, the coach of the Leigh Leopards, tells BBC Sport:

“Magic Weekend will be round 10 because we are in second place in the group despite the injuries we have and how much we have grown overall,” the statement read.

“I’m very happy about that, and I’m sure our fans are as well.
