If you were a kid in the early 2000s or have children who were, you likely remember a pink-haired, high-energy character named Stephanie from Lazy Town. The show, which aired on Nickelodeon, CBeebies, Disney Channel and more, showed eight-year-old Stephanie moving to a town with her uncle where she encourages her friends to go out and play instead of staying indoors.

One of the stars of the show has revealed just how much she has grown up since the pilot aired. Actress Shelby Young, 33, recently raked in more than 29million views after sharing a post on TikTok where she sported Stephanie’s iconic stripy pink outfit and matching bob wig. Shelby said: “I don’t have pink hair anymore…just kidding, it was a wig.”

The New Yorker continued to share a number of photos from her time on the set, including ones of her getting her makeup done, screen tests, promotional shots, and hanging out with Sportacus’ actor Magnus Scheving.

Shelby later appeared in the Star Wars video games Wild Child, Elio, Days of Our Lives, Days of Our Lives, The Social Network, and American Horror Story, but she claims Stephanie is the role she is most frequently asked about.

Shelby insisted that the filming process was “nothing but joy” and explained what it was like on set in a YouTube video. She responded, “I believe Lazy Town is the project I get most questions about.”

The actress, however, did not appear in the episode or promotion that came before the television series’ debut in 2002, when Julianna Mauriello and Chloe Lang took over the part.

Shelby shared on YouTube that the casting director said she “exactly resembled” the animation they had created for the character when she showed up for her audition. She hired her after going through a number of screen tests, singing auditions, and dance rehearsals.

Shelby and her mother traveled to Iceland to film the show. She photographed promotional images for the show while working through demanding rehearsal schedules, fittings for the renowned pink wig and striped costume, and took promotional photos. Additionally, she made a video of Stephanie’s signature song, “Bing Bang.” More than 350, 000 YouTube views have been viewed the Shelby performance’s video.

She gave live performances to raise money for the program and even gave interview interviews. After all of that, Shelby said she was anticipating what had happened following the pilot.

Shelby said, “Unfortunately, that’s where my story as Stephanie ends.” Being a member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) can prevent you from taking non-union jobs, according to Shelby.

There are all these reasons they decided to go non-union with the show, Shelby explained. The show was being shot in another country. Although I can’t recall every detail, my team ultimately decided to leave the show.

The actress, who eventually played Stephanie in the role of Stephanie, still has fond memories of her Lazy Town experiences.
