Lauren Silverman, who recently changed her name to Lauren Cowell, has praised her partner, Simon Cowell, while answering questions from her fans on social media

Lauren Silverman has shared a rare insight into her life with Simon Cowell just weeks after the couple showed a rare glimpse into their relationship.

The 48-year-old socialite and entrepreneur, who recently changed her legal name to Lauren Cowell, held a question-and-answer session on Instagram this weekend. On Sunday, a fan asked her what her favourite thing about her music mogul fiancé, 66, is.

In her loving reply, Lauren said she loves the Britain’s Got Talent and X-Factor judges’ passion and talent, and their kindness when it comes to meeting fans. Lauren, who shares 11-year-old son Eric with Simon, wrote: “There’s so many things I love about Simon. I love his excitement and passion for all the projects he takes on.”

She added: “And I love how kind he is to all of his fans and people who stop him for photos etc.” Answering another question, Lauren described life with Simon as “always an adventure” as she wrote: “Never a dull moment for sure. Keeps life interesting.”

After a fan asked her whether her family would consider a reality show, he said: “I always say that whatever we do, it has to serve a purpose. The docuseries was specifically for Simon to find a new boy band. The family stuff was in the context of this show. Otherwise, it doesn’t serve any purpose for us.”

Lauren was also asked what the biggest lesson she has learnt about herself is, and she replied: “As I am getting older, I am learning to trust myself more. I really believe that our instincts and our gut is usually correct.” She also said that she doesn’t look for validation from others and accepts that making mistakes is a normal part of life.

Simon, who was once one of the UK’s most notorious bachelors, has been very vocal about his reluctance to marry. However, he left fans stunned when he popped the question to Lauren on Christmas Eve 2021, insisting that the two would wed.

Stating that when they do waltz down the aisle, it will be private, he told US Weekly: “I always shied away from saying it’s going to happen whenever. When we decide to do it, it will be private, then people will know about it, but obviously, the fact that she talks about changing her name is quite obvious where all this is leading to.

“We have a very, very close bond. I adore her. We are a very happy family, genuinely.” Just before Christmas, Simon and Lauren shared some photos from their romantic getaway after letting a film crew into their home for Simon’s new Netflix show, The Next Act, in which he assembles a boyband, which he hopes will emulate the success of X-Factor icons, One Direction.

The documentary gives fans a rare look at Simon’s relationship with Lauren and in December, the couple shared a intimate shot of themselves, snuggled up together on holiday onboard a boat. Posting the photo on Instagram, Lauren, wearing a red bathing suit and Chanel sunglasses, looked happy as Simon, rocking black swimming trunks, put his arm around her.

The mum-of-two – who also shared a picture-postcard beach snap, with the tagline “candy-coloured sky” – simply captioned the romantic photo “Us” with a string of red heart emojis. In addition to her son with Simon, Lauren is also mum to Adam Silverman, from her previous marriage to Andrew Silverman.

Simon previously revealed that meeting and falling in love with Lauren saved him from a “dark” time in his life. In 2024, Simon discussed grieving his parents’ deaths during an appearance on The Diary of a CEO podcast, having lost his father, Eric, in 1999, and his mother, Julie, in 2015.

Hello! magazine reported that the record executive said: “I think you have to open up about grief. For all of us, it’s the hardest thing you ever go through. I worried I was never going to feel that love again, but when you have a kid, it’s even more emotions, though it’s different.”

For Simon, the darkness alleviated when he met Lauren. He said: “When it got quite dark, everything opened up for me.” He continued: “I hoped something good would happen because when I was working flat-out, even though everything was going fine, I was miserable because I was physically and mentally exhausted.”
