Lewis Hamilton claims that frustration led to comments he made after the Las Vegas Grand Prix that he was “not looking forward to” the following season.

The Ferrari driver finished 10th overall in his first season with the Italian team, the most recent of his kind of difficult weekends.

Hamilton, who has received numerous negative reviews of his own performances and level of enjoyment this season, responded, “That’s just in the heat of frustration.”

Hamilton responded, “I don’t regret the decision I made to join the team,” when asked whether he would still have signed for Ferrari if he had known how challenging this season would be. I expected that because I am aware that it takes time for an organization to grow and develop, so yes.

Hamilton left Ferrari in the hopes that the team would win the eighth drivers’ title, but his debut season has been uneven.

The 40-year-old is hoping for a more competitive Ferrari next season, and is pleased to see the back of the current technical regulations, which he finds to be in conflict with his driving style.

Next season, F1 will have new chassis and engine regulations.

The hybrid power unit will account for a lot more of the power output of the engines, and the cars are returning to the aerodynamic philosophy that Hamilton had so much success in between 2007 and 2010 combined with.

However, he claimed that Ferrari still needed to work on their track operations over the winter.

No one in the team seems to believe they will have to play their part, and I think we can do that. “We’ll analyze the season and there’s a lot of improvements we need to make collectively,” he said.

And he claimed he was “not concerned” that his teammate Charles Leclerc had outperformed him this year.

Hamilton said, “I’ve just been focusing on my side this time.”

“Charles has obviously done a fantastic job. He has been employed here for seven years. He has worked with a team that he has for a long time and is surrounded by. It’s therefore a well-maintained machine.

It’s a new group of people on my side. It’s a new environment that I’m still getting used to working in, in my opinion.
