Christmas Number One on the Official Charts is now available! The top single from the upcoming holiday season of 2025 has been named as Kylie Minogue. This comes after Wham’s two straight years! The title is taken from “Last Christmas.”
The Official Charts Company and BBC Radio 1 made the announcement. The winner was based on the number of singles and streams purchased between December 12 and December 18. Kylie is the only female artist to have had UK Number 1 singles in four different decades thanks to the song, which earned her eighth number one single.
Amazon Music Number One also reaches the top for the first time ever, making XMAS the official winner. It’s difficult to express how special this is, Kylie said. Due to several songs’ odds of winning the Christmas Top 40, it was difficult to predict who would win the competition for this year’s Christmas Number One. Other contenders included Loose Women’s Denise Welch, who released a song called Slayy Bells, and Together For Palestine’s Lullaby, a hit Christmas song that also earned another strong ploy for the top spot.
Non-festive tracks were not taken off of The Official Charts Company’s Christmas Number Ones, either. They also included Raye’s Where Is My Husband, which was a popular choice given its popularity on TikTok, two Olivia Dean songs, So Easy and Man I Need, and two Taylor Swift songs, The Fate of Ophelia and Opalite.
Before Wham ! LadBaby, who rose to the top of the Christmas charts for several years with their food-based adaptations of classic songs, did so for a while. The YouTube sensations I Love Sausage Rolls and Don’t Stop Me Eatin’ appeared to be the perfect fit for the Number One from 2018 to 2022.
The X Factor winners dominated Christmas Number One for a very long time. Number Ones were also made by Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke, Matt Cardle, and Sam Bailey.
1952 saw Al Martino’s Here In My Heart as the top single of the festive week receiving a Christmas Number One on The Official Charts.
