Kylie Minogue cried out onstage at her O2 Arena performance tonight as she marked a significant milestone in music.
Tonight at her O2 Arena show, Kylie Minogue was caught on camera shedding tears onstage. The Australian singer, who launched her musical career in 1987, was honored for hosting 21 shows there throughout her career.
The Padam Padam singer, 57, became the first female artist to join the venue’s 21 Club as she stopped off for her Tension Tour. The legendary club honours acts who have played the arena 21 times or more and includes huge stars including Michael Bublé, Take That, One Direction and Drake.
Celebrating her sixteenth studio album, Kylie performed her latest tour at the prestigious arena four times – bringing her total up to 24 overall. The star had no problems filling up the 20,000 capacity arena each night, and tonight all 20,000 were behind the star as she broke down in tears.
Speaking on the emotional moment, a source in attendance told the Mirror: “Kylie was really emotional and fought back the tears as she addressed the crowd. It was clear the achievement meant a lot to her.
She was the first female artist to do so and proudly presented her award to the audience that marked 21 O2 shows. She actually had her 24th performance at the prestigious arena tonight. As she shared the news with the audience and cried throughout her career reflection, it was a very moving moment.
“She was backed and had her back by everyone in the arena.” She obviously appreciated her fans’ support and love, as she has always done.
Kylie’s friends and fans have come out in full force to support her on her mammoth tour, with Britain’s Got Talent star Amanda Holden turning up to support her friend on Monday night.
The BGT host was in her element at her friends gig, as she danced alongside fellow BGT judge Bruno Tonioli and BBC co-star Alan Carr.
Louise Redknapp was also part of the long list of celebrities to show support to the Can’t Get You Out Of My Head singer on social media. Taking to Instagram this morning, Kylie posted a range of pictures and videos from her O2 shows, alongside the caption: “Another amazing night at the O2. Here we go again!!!! Let’s go London!”
After wrapping up her London shows, the singer will travel to Glasgow and Birmingham before making her first appearance in Europe, which will be in Berlin.
It’s been a busy year for the star, who kicked off the tour in Australia at the start of the year, before travelling to the United States and later stopping off in the United Kingdom.
