Timothée Chalamet won Best Actor at the Golden Globes but appeared to barely notice girlfriend Kylie Jenner, and now a lipreader has claimed to unpick what was said at the table
A lipreaders claims to have deciphered the words exchanged by Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet during a ‘secret fight’ at the Golden Globes.
Timothee dominated at the awards, taking home the Best Actor in a Comedy Film or Musical trophy for his performance in Marty Supreme – but seemed to hardly acknowledge his long-term partner during his acceptance moment. Tense moments were caught on camera, as suggestions of a row swirl.
The pair have been romantically linked for almost three years and are typically known for their public displays of affection; however, the atmosphere was rather different when the duo attended the prestigious ceremony. The there was a clear absence of such intimacy at the awards – with Timothée appearing to almost overlook her presence as he made his way to the stage and when he was on it.

Lipreader Nicola Hickling has broken down what she beleives was said between the pair. afterwards. She says the actor first leaned in towards Kylie and whispered “You must hate me.” She smiled, and, according to the Daily Mail, replied “Yes.” Then, Timothée asks her: “Were you worried?”
The expert claims she replied: “It was a bold yes.” He then responds: “You look bothered” as he moves to take his seat at the plush event. Ms Hickling then claims the Kylie told her boyfriend” “Not here” before she went on to tell him: “You’re annoying.”
Seemingly sidestepping a kiss as he greeted various individuals at their table before making his way to the podium, Timothé continued this distant approach during his acceptance remarks. While expressing gratitude to numerous people in his life upon receiving the honor, he only gave her a fleeting mention at the tail end of his speech.
Wrapping up his remarks abruptly, Chalamet declared, “To my parents and partner, I love you. Thank you so much.”
This represented a significantly more subdued recognition of Kylie compared to his expression at the Critics’ Choice Awards just one week prior, where he had publicly declared his affection for her.
This also followed what appeared to be a deliberate snub on the red carpet – as he arrived by himself at the ceremony, with his girlfriend only materializing next to him in a shimmering, golden dress once they had settled into their seats at the Beverly Hilton hotel.
Kylie’s absence from the red carpet walkthrough raised eyebrows, particularly given the adoring remarks Chalamet had made about her and her stunning outfit.
“After love-bombing Kylie at the Critic’s Choice awards, Timothee decided to walk the red carpet at the Golden Globes alone, despite the fact that Kylie was in her most extreme Hollywood look to date, dressed as what looked like an homage to the Oscar statue, perhaps in anticipation a win for Timothee in 2026,” body language expert Judi James told The Daily Mail.
Judi further suggested that this apparent “snub” might have been “hurtful” to Jenner, despite his seemingly “relaxed” demeanor.
“The line will probably be that he didn’t want any distractions, but with many other top stars happily posing up with their other-halves and with Kylie looking especially red carpet-ready, it might have appeared rather hurtful to not pose with her now that they would appear to be officially ‘in love’ and went to great pains to show it to the camera at last week’s awards.”
