Following criticisms that one of the group called for the murder of Tory MPs, Keecap’s upcoming performance at the Eden Project was postponed, the band’s show has been postponed. Following the release of footage that showed one member allegedly saying, “The only good Tory is a dead Tory,” the rap group apologized earlier this week to the families of murdered MPs Sir David Amess and Jo Cox. Your neighborhood politician should be dead.

Later, they criticized the newly surfaced footage as part of a “coordinated smear campaign” against them and refuted claims that they also supported Hamas and Hezbollah. They want you to think that genocide is more harmful than words. Let’s be clear: We never have or have supported Hamas or Hezbollah. Always, we condemn all acts of violence against civilians. Never is that okay. Given the history of our country, they wrote on Instagram, “We know this more than anyone.”

The band’s July concert at the Eden Project has now been canceled, the venue’s in Cornwall revealing the news in a statement.

The Kneecap show at Eden Project, which was scheduled for July 4, 2025, has been canceled, according to a spokesperson for Eden Sessions. Tickets will be purchased directly from the seller, and they will receive a full refund.

Beginning on April 30th, 2025, the refund procedure will begin. The original payment cards used to process refunds will be used. Customers should allow six business days for their accounts to receive money.

Keir Starmer publicly denounced the group’s comments, leading to the cancellation of the program. The official spokesperson for the prime minister said he thought the remarks were “completely unacceptable” and that he “decries them with all the force possible.”

Meanwhile, Kemi Badenoch, the leader of the opposition, said that Kneecap’s “anti-British hatred” had no place in our society because she urged them to take action.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed just days ago that they were looking into the resurfaced videos as well as another in which a band member appeared to shout “up Hamas, up Hezbollah” to the crowd.

A video that is believed to have been a tidbit from a nightclub in November of 2024 has been sent to the Counter Terrorism Internet Referral Unit for evaluation and to see if any further police investigations are necessary, according to a spokesman for the Metropolitan Police. Another video that appears to be from a November 2023 event has also been made available to us.
