As she posts adorable images of her most recent addition to the family, Khloe Kardashian appears unfazed after facing criticism from PETA for buying a puppy for Christmas.
It’s been days since Khloe Kardashian felt the full force of PETA after she posted a picture of her new adorable puppy she bought for Christmas. The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) criticised the reality TV star, 41, and her sister, Kim, for purchasing puppies for their children as Christmas presents from breeders rather than a rescue shelter.
The mother of two has continued to post images of her black Labrador Retriever named Peppermint for her legion of followers, unaffected by the backlash. The newest member of her family was seen posing cutely on her gravel driveway in a photo.
Peppermint is seen in another image sprawling mansion lying on her stomach. Meanwhile, her sister Kim publicly disclosed on social media that she had purchased four puppies for each of her children for Christmas, infuriating PETA members.

Kim’s choice of present was criticized by Ingrid Newkirk, the charity’s founder, in a statement. Khloe also criticized for purchasing a dog from a breeder rather than a shelter. It’s a shame Kim missed the opportunity to represent shelter dogs, according to a statement obtained by the Daily Mail, and she is being unfairly attacked for doing so on social media.
She remarked, “We ask Kim and Khloe, who did the same thing, to call PETA or a local shelter the next time they want to bring an animal into their home, because it is inexcusably callous.” And make some amends right away, she continued, “Encourage parents to donate to a local shelter, sponsor a local shelter adopt-a-thon, or at least one spay day to help stop the growing homeless puppy crisis by having their children volunteer at a local shelter,” she continued.
Announcing the addition to her family of five, Kim posted a picture of all four puppies on her sofa and captioned the post saying: “Each kid got a puppy.” And it wasn’t just PETA who had a lot to say about her Christmas present, so too did her fans. Taking to Reddit, one person said: “Puppies are not Christmas gifts for kids.”
Animals and pets are not gifts, according to another person, unless the recipient has a genuine desire for and cares for it. This is f**ked up”. A third wrote that “it’s not special at all if they each got a puppy.” When they each acquire a personal dog like a Tamagotchi, how will they learn to love one animal as siblings?
They only have a pet because it’s small and cute, and it’s something kids want, but when the pup grows up, they no longer care about it, according to another fourth comment. Absolutely ridiculous. Fans called her choice “sad” and “wrong in every way imaginable” according to some.
Kim adopted Sushi and Sake with her sister Kourtney in 2017 and is also a paw parent. Kim’s parenting of her pets has previously drawn criticism. Following a TikTok video that her daughter North-West took, it appeared as though her dogs were living in her garage in 2022.
Additionally, Khloe has a previous dog that tragically passed away recently. She said, “Last night, my sweet Gabbana passed away,” and paid tribute to her dog at the time. She was more than a pet, in fact. She was my friend and my companion at birth. She continued, “14 years is a long time together, but I never thought I would be this devastated over losing a dog.” I’m forever grateful for the significant role she played in my life. Goober, I adore you! I’ll always be in your thoughts”!
It has recently been reported that Kim and Kanye West, who is the father of her four children, have finally reached an amicable position in their fractured relationship, as they now co-parent successfully. The former couple, who split in 2021, spent Christmas together with all four of their children.
The couple has six children, Psalm six, and North-West nine, Saint nine, and Chicago six. Kanye and Bianca Censori wed architect Bianca Censori after their marriage broke down. Kim claimed that his mental health issues became too difficult to deal with when she split with the renowned rapper.
A source told TMZ that their turbulent relationship post-split was more than just “cordial,” and that they actually “got on” because of how seamlessly they spent time together over the Christmas holiday. Kanye has been “working on himself,” according to the media outlet, which may be why the newly wed couple has been able to mend their once-dissolved relationship.
