Strictly Come Dancing winner Kelvin Fletcher has spoken out on fellow famous farmer Jeremy Clarkson, after documenting his own journey into agriculture alongside his wife and children on Fletchers’ Family Farm.

Former Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher, 41, has made his stance on Jeremy Clarkson, 65, clear, after following in the presenter’s footsteps when he and his wife, Liz, purchased a 120-acre plot of land in Wincle, Cheshire back in 2021.

The family have been keeping fans up to date with their farming journey on their ITV show, while Jeremy has been fronting his hit Clarkson’s Farm series on Amazon Prime after taking charge of Diddly Squat Farm in the Cotswolds.

During an appearance on the Motorhome Matt podcast, Kelvin, who is appearing in Fletchers’ Country Workshop this weekend, was quick to respond when host Matt mischievously described the Strictly champion as the “good looking Clarkson in the farming world.”

Kelvin politely replied: “I think Clarkson is pretty good looking anyway, so, you know, I’m the shorter version of him really, with a lot less ground and probably, maybe, a little bit less abrasive.”

“And better teeth,” Matt brutally interjected, to which Kelvin responded: “Oh, I don’t know… yeah, yeah, yeah.”

Kelvin previously responded to viewers making comparisons between his farm series and Jeremy’s during an appearance on ITV’s This Morning last year.

The star, who is dad to Marnie, Milo, Maximus and Mateusz, said: “Clarkson’s [Farm] is fantastic. Matt Baker’s as well, we’ve seen Our Yorkshire Farm, there’s so many shows like that. They all represent, it’s informative TV, it’s a sense of escapism.

“They’re all unique in their own way. Clarkson’s got a huge endeavour there, a massive commercial business and it’s hilarious as well. Whereas, this is just a little family farm, for us it’s all about living.”

In Kelvin’s ITV series, Fletchers’ Family Farm, fans are given a candid insight into their rural lifestyle.

Opening up on his and Liz’s decision to uproot their family and settle on a farm with absolutely no previous experience, Kelvin admitted he’s aware the choice sounds ‘crazy’.

He said: “We haven’t come from farming backgrounds. We have literally taken a leap of faith and done the unthinkable and decided to uproot and move out to the middle of nowhere and start living off the land.

“As crazy as it sounds, that is exactly what we have done.”
