Tom Parker died three years ago today after being diagnosed with a tumour, and his widowed wife Kelsey overlooked Mother’s Day as she honoured him in a moving post featuring their two kids
While people across the UK are celebrating Mother’s Day today, for Kelsey Parker the holiday fell on a tragic date this year. Today is the third anniversary of her former husband Tom Parker’s death, and she marked her loss with an emotional Instagram post.
The Wanted star Tom died on March 30, 2022, after being diagnosed with a grade IV glioblastoma – a form of inoperable brain tumour.
The couple started dating in 2009 and married in a stunning outdoor ceremony in July 2018, going on to welcome daughter Aurelia and son Bodhi.
Kelsey, 34, shared a post honouring Tom’s life, sharing several photos from their many years together. Kicking off with two snaps of them dressed to the nines at a dinner event, Kelsey then added several more photos of herself and Tom while out and about, smiling while holding hands and being silly during evenings out.
The podcaster also added a photo from their wedding day, alongside a photo of baby Bodhi laying against his dad, and Tom beaming as he held both Aurelia and Bodhi on his lap when they were little.
“Three years without you. Energy can’t be destroyed only transferred. I can feel you with us everyday! We miss you so much baby. There’s not a day that goes by that we don’t miss you and don’t talk about you”, Kelsey wrote alongside the post with a heart and sparkle emoji.
She also shared the post on her Stories, and added: “Three years without you. But I feel you with us every day. We miss you”.
In the comment section, one fan gushed: “A lovely post Kelsey. You have been so strong &, deserve all the happiness. Your little girl is the spitting image of Tom in the last pic”.
“Awww Kelsey, Tom is loved and missed. I believe he’d have sent your new happiness your way so you aren’t lonely, would definitely want you to be happy”, said a second.
The second fan was echoing Kelsey’s own words, after she clapped back at trolls who bullied her for moving on with her new partner Will Lindsay.
In January Kelsey announced that she and Will were expecting their first child, and she recently spoke about the hate sent her way while she and Will shared their first TV appearance together on Lorraine.
Sharing the idea that Tom sent Will so that she could be happy, Kelsey mused: “I do feel like Tom sent you, like what else was I meant to do? And the kids obviously absolutely love you”.
Kelsey also admitted that she did have mixed feelings about moving on, but had to move forwards in life. The star begged: “I’m always going to have guilt but what’s so hard is that Tom’s not here anymore, so what do people want me to do”?
