Kelly Clarkson has had to postpone a number of concerts last minute after making a sad family announcement. The former American Idol winner made the tough call on Wednesday evening as she told fans her Las Vegas residency was being cancelled throughout August.
The 43-year-old Because of You singer started her residency at Caesars Palace last month, but she needs to postpone the offerings for this month. She just learned that Brandon Blackstock, her ex-husband and the father of her children, is ill.
The duo share two children together, River Rose, 11, and son Remington Alexander, nine. Kelly and Brandon called time on their marriage in 2020, finalising their divorce two years later.

Taking to Instagram to share the news, Kelly wrote: “Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas..
Although I typically maintain my private life, I noticed that my children’s father has been ill this year, so I need to be there for them at this time. I apologize sincere to everyone who purchased tickets for the performances, and I so appreciate your patience, understanding, and understanding.

Although there hasn’t been any official notification regarding the rescheduled dates, Ticketmaster does have 2026 dates listed on its website right now.
The cancellations come just one month after Kelly was forced to change earlier schedules. Kelly made the announcement on July 4 that she was taking a brief break from her residency to “protect myself” on the stage.
She stated in a statement at the time, “My voice has been put to a lot by the preparation and rehearsals.” I need to take a break from the show to ensure that we can deliver what you all deserve, but I also need to protect myself from doing serious harm. The performance is truly incredible.
When she addressed the issue on her return to her The Kelly Clarkson Show a week later, she addressed it. The actress apologized in a video shared on TikTok. Sometimes our bodies can’t be helped. We all get sick, you know, and that’s what happens.
