According to the statement, Governor Idris also ordered the immediate disbursement of a part of the approved amount by Friday and instructed that the remaining balance be fully paid by the end of July.

Chairman of the forum, Bello Gulumbe, expressed deep appreciation to the governor, stating that many past administrations had failed to honour the entitlements.

Gulumbe assured the governor of the forum’s full support, adding that all former councillors in the state were now committed to supporting his administration to achieve its goals.

Meanwhile, following a heated exchange and social media attacks between supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the coalition led by the African Democratic Congress (ADC), the Kebbi Elders’ Consultative Forum has called on politicians and political parties in the state to exercise restraint and engage in politics with decorum.

The acting chairman of the Forum, Justice Muhammad Ambursa, who made the appeal, expressed concern over the rising trend of verbal abuse and personal attacks among political actors in the state.
