In a joint statement, Katy Perry confirmed her split from Orlando Bloom earlier this month, and she has since sparked romantic rumors with former politician Justin Trudeau.
Newly single Katy Perry reportedly enjoyed a “dinner date” with Justin Trudeau whilst on tour in Canada. The singer-songwriter is said to have been spotted at a restaurant with the former Prime Minister of Canada earlier this week.
Speculation of a potential new romance comes after it was announced just weeks ago that Katy, 40, had split up from actor Orlando Bloom, 48. Justin, 53, has gone through a high-profile separation in recent years too, having shared that he had split from his wife Sophie Trudeau, 50, in 2023.
Katy and Justin are said to have spent time together last night amid her latest world tour. The Lifetimes Tour headed to Canada last week and she’s due to perform in Ottawa tonight before taking to the stage in Montreal tomorrow.
They were allegedly dining together at Le Violon in Montreal last night, according to TMZ’s video. The pair shared several drinks and shared plates, one of which is said to have featured lobster.
They are said to have been greeted by the chef at one point, before heading into the kitchen to personally thank staff at the restaurant following their meal. According to TMZ, co-executive chef Danny Smiles said there were no public displays of affection and that he didn’t get ‘dating vibes’.
However, additional photos that appear to show Katy and Justin outside in Montreal an hour and a half before the meal have since been made available by TMZ. They were teased by the outlet for walking together through the city and looking like “couples.”
Katy and her former fiancé Orlando announced their separation earlier this month. It came following much speculation about their relationship, including that the couple had been planning “make-or-break talks” amid a “rough patch”.
Just weeks ago though, representatives for Katy and Orlando, who have a daughter together, issued a joint statement to outlets like Page Six. It confirmed that they had separated, with their relationship said to have now shifted to co-parenting together.
Representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been changing their relationship over the past few months in order to concentrate on coparenting, according to the statement. They will always be viewed as a family because their shared goal is and always will be to raise their daughter in love, stability, and mutual respect.
In August 2023, Justin announced that he had split from his wife Sophie, who he shares three children with. Following their split, he said in a statement that they would continue to be a “close family.”
After many meaningful and challenging conversations, Sophie and I decided to break up, he said. They would continue to have “deep love and respect,” according to Justin.
We are still a close family, with deep love and respect for one another and for everything we have built and will continue to build, according to Justin. We ask that you respect our and their privacy in order for our children’s sake.
