Katsina Hisbah Board Orders All Private Schools To Close For Ramadan Fast

The state’s private schools have been given a state-wide order to end operations for the month of Ramadan.

However, the government-backed organization that enforces Islamic principles’ Sharia law warned that violating the law will not be tolerated.

Malam Aminu Usman, the board’s commander-general, stated in a statement released on Thursday that the decision complied with the state government’s directive.

Usman argued that the closure of the schools is to allow students to fully observe the Muslim fasting period while urging the school owners to strictly adhere to the directive.
