Katie Price is said to have split from JJ Slater and though she has said she doesn’t need a man, friends are reportedly not going to be surprised when she’s in a new relationship
Despite telling her podcast listeners that she “doesn’t need a man”, Katie Price’s family are reportedly concerned she’s about to “throw herself deep into another relationship”, which a source predicts will only last three seconds.
Katie is thought to have split from her boyfriend JJ Slater. Though Katie shot down reports that she and the Married At First Sight star broke up in December, recent comments on her podcast made many think the relationship was over.
Speaking on the latest episode of her podcast, The Katie Price Show, the star explained how years ago she was “afraid of being on my own” but that was no longer the case. Not mentioning JJ, she said: “Years ago, I was always afraid of being on my own. I always felt I needed someone. How I am now, I always say, I don’t need a man. If I want a man, it’s because I want them. I don’t need a man, whereas years before, I needed a man.”

But a source says Katie is likely to jump straight into another relationship. “She always says the same thing [about being happy alone and not needing a man in her life] but she’ll be throwing herself into the next relationship,” they said. “She wants to find a husband and can’t cope without being with a partner. It wouldn’t be surprising if she hasn’t got someone lined up already.”
They added that such a relationship would not last long. “It will last three seconds. Her family are concerned she will throw herself deep into another relationship and put the pressure on again to get married, like she has with JJ. You can’t force someone to get married, you can’t force someone to love you.”
According to the same source, the split between Katie and JJ emerged after the former glamour model issued an ultimatum about marriage. “This has been on the cards for a long time,” they said. “She’s been pushing for marriage, wanting a guy that’s marriage material but the writing has been on the wall for a long time.
“He’s supported her through all her surgeries and been to Turkey with her on many occasions when she’s had her procedures but he just didn’t like the fact she was number one, going for more surgeries, her obsession with it, and her loss of weight and not listening to anyone, and the constant want of press attention. The cracks started to show.”
They continued: “Katie really wants marriage and security and he wasn’t there, he had checked out. She wanted marriage and for him to step up but he just wasn’t. She was getting frustrated, she wanted a ring on her finger . She is desperate to get married again. She wanted more kids. She is fixated on being with someone and being in a long stable couple. She was getting frustrated with him and was like, right, you either marry me or its over sort of thing.
“She moved quickly with the others but with him, he wasn’t up for the Katie show and the drama and that everything that goes along with Katie price. He got cold feet and she was like you’re with me or you’re not. It was all or nothing.”
The source added that “cracks started to appear” because of Katie’s “urgency” and the pressure it put on JJ. They said when he tried to say he was concerned about her and her health, she would also get “defensive”: “She didn’t mind the age gap, she just wanted a man and to be married. For him it didn’t matter at the start, but slowly the cracks started to appear and her urgency for another baby and demands to be married. I think he found the pressure a lot. If he voiced his concerns about the surgeries or her weight loss she would get very defensive.
Finally the source warned that Katie’s family are gravely concerned for her health and worry she could “die” from the surgeries she is getting. “Her family are very worried about her. There is a real problem there and they are worried she will die on the operating table, because she’s not strong enough. She isn’t strong enough for a general anaesthetic, let alone another procedure.”
