This week, Kate Beckinsale made a request on social media to follow a deceased family member.

Kate, 51, made her return to Instagram today with a post that featured footage of her mother Judy Loe, 77, from different occasions. Alongside the compilation video, she asked fans to send a “spare prayer or magic” to Judy, who she’s previously revealed had been diagnosed with cancer.

She wrote to her followers in the caption of the post: “I wasn’t going to come back to Instagram but anyone who has a spare prayer or magic or miracle or sunbeam please send it to my mama, my most extraordinary, warrior, generous, humble, loving, unique, irreplaceable Mama. Thank you”.

Kate continued by praying for Judy, and she said, “Safe this night,” to conclude. She wrote: “Lord, keep her safe this night, secure from all her fears, may angels guard her while she sleeps till morning. light appears. Amen”.

Kate responded to one follower in the comments section despite not providing any further information about the situation. The fan wrote to her: “Cute! Hope all is well with your mother”. Kate however responded to them: “It is not”.

Further encouragement and encouragement came in response to the most recent post. David Furnish wrote: “Sending love and prayers”. Helena Christensen said: “Praying for your gorgeous mother”. Another person reacted: “Sending big love and positive energy”. While another person wrote to Kate, “I’m lighting a candle for your mama”

It comes shortly after the first anniversary of her step-father Roy Battersby’s death last month. The director, who was 87, passed away in January last year. He is said to have started dating Judy when Kate was nine years old and is referred to as one of her parents. Around four years prior to her father’s passing, Richard Beckinsale passed away in 1979.

She addressed criticism on social media last summer about the effects of losing her stepfather and her mother’s diagnosis. She had raised concerns after her apparent month-long hospital stay sparked concern. She referenced in hospitalisation in response to one critic, who, in July last year, suggested that her “a** ran away” and that she should “do some squats”.

Kate responded: “No, actually, I watched my stepfather die quite shockingly, my mother has stage 4 cancer and I lost a lot of weight from stress and grief, quite quickly, and then I was in hospital for six weeks because the grief had burned a hole in my oesophagus, which made me vomit copious amounts of blood, and I found eating very hard”.

She continued by claiming that her late father Richard’s passing had caused a recent project to be “quite triggering.” She continued, “And I just worked very hard on a movie that was actually quite triggering because it also had the theme of my father’s passing.” I’m not really worried what you think of my a**. You might want to be concerned about your own f**ing a**. I advise putting something up top, such as a large pineapple or a brick.
