Bayern Munich defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-1 at home on Saturday, marking their 11th victory from 11 games in all competitions this season. Harry Kane scored for the seventh straight game.
With 21 points from seven games this season, Bayern managed to stay five points clear of the top of the Bundesliga table thanks to the win.
“It was a big game,” he said. Kane, who scored his 104th goal for the champions, told reporters, “Dortmund were unbeaten for a while and we were too.”
“Those victories must be kept on track.” That’s how we’re faring so well.
Dortmund finished fourth, seven points adrift of Bayern, after the defeat.
Kane was named in the number 10 slot by Bayern coach Vincent Kompany, following Nicolas Jackson, who had just started for Chelsea.
In the first 10 minutes, Kane was quick to show off his creative prowess, threading passes for wingers Michael Olise and Luis Diaz, both of whom had excellent chances.

In the following 21 minutes, Kane scored his 400th goal at club level with a typical poacher’s goal from a corner.
The forward has now scored 19 goals for Bayern this season, including 12 league goals, in 11 of their 11 games this season.
Dortmund were better in the second half after the opening period’s one-way traffic and should have equaled when Bayern’s Serhou Guirassy teed up Karim Adeyemi, who slipped while attempting to shoot.
With 11 minutes left, Jobe Bellingham made a late substitution and hesitating in possession of his own box, hesitating Olise could score.
Kane claimed that he had spoken with his compatriot Bellingham about the error and that he had been told to “keep doing what you’re doing.”
The England captain continued, “He has a lot of potential.”
In the 84th minute, Dortmund put a stop to their late pressure, but Julian Brandt was able to convert a risky Julian Ryerson cross.
Kane stated to reporters following the victory that talks will take place about a contract extension with Bayern as his current contract expires at the end of the following season.
“There’s no hurry, but I believe things are going really well.” I’ve already expressed my happiness at Bayern.

As Bayern Leverkusen prepare to face reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain in an international match, Alex Grimaldo scored twice as they won 4-3 at Mainz, ending an eight-game unbeaten run.
Leverkusen moved up to fifth place in the table, on par with Dortmund, with the win.
Leverkusen took the lead 11 minutes after Grimaldo’s spot-kick, and Christian Kofane doubled their lead midway through the second half, finishing off a clever team move with a low shot into the bottom right corner.
On the 34th minute, Lee Jae-sung scored after Loic Bade’s clearance hit his own player.
Leverkusen pressurized Mainz for an error before half-time, and Jonas Hofmann won the penalty and scored Grimaldo for tap-in, his sixth goal in ten games.
Leverkusen were 4-2, but Martin Terrier’s strike three minutes prior set up a nervy ending with Armindo Sieb’s strike shortly after.
Leverkusen eventually hung on, finishing with the first goal in each of their seven matches this year.

Promoted Cologne lost 1-1 to Augsburg at home, while Werder Bremen equaled Heidenheim with a draw of 2-3.
