Justin Bieber, a Canadian singer, made an appearance on his new album, SWAG to address the state of his relationship with his wife Hailey in a couple songs.
Justin Bieber has scored his eighth Number 1 with his new single DAISIES, his focus track from his seventh studio album – which appears to reference some of his rumoured recent marriage woes with wife Hailey.
This week, the 31-year-old climbed three spots to the top of the Official Charts. With eight chart-topping singles under his belt, Sam Smith is on par with Oasis, The Rolling Stones, and Sam Smith.
Artists who have scored more Number 1s than that so far are Elvis with 21, The Beatles with 18, Ed Sheeran, Westlife and Cliff Richard jointly on 14, Madonna on 13, Take That with 12, Calvin Harris and Eminem with 11, Elton John with 10 and Rihanna, ABBA and the Spice Girls, who each have nine.
After Love Yourself rose to the top in 2015, Justin’s debut No. 1 single is DAISIES, which is his first solo chart topper in six years.
He might be mentioning Hailey, his wife of seven years, with whom he has a 10-month-old son, Jack Blues. “Throwing petals, like do you love me or not,” the lyrics begin with. The head is spinning and unsure of its stop.
“You’ve said it forever, babe,” Do you mean it or not? Before Justin sings, “You leave me on read babe, but I still get the message. It’s three dots instead of a line, but I can connect them. And if something is wrong, babe, you can tell I respect it. However, just take your time if you need it. I understand, I understand, I understand, and I understand.
The title of “All I can Take” is the first song on the 21-song album SWAG. While another is called “Walking Away.” One of the first lines in the latter is, “Girl, we better stop before we say some s***.”
Justin continues, “We’ve been putting our patience to the test. If we just take a breath, I believe we’ll be happier. The Canadian singer-songwriter then appears to have a relationship with Hailey that is set the record straight.
He says, “I’m not going to leave, baby.” My diamond is in you. Presented you with a ring. Promised to you. He sings, “I told you I’d change,” when asked about his own issues with drugs and his mental health, which he has frequently mentioned in social media posts.
Every time you say my name, the song continues, “And I always get it.” When you say it, I’m reminded of how much I love. We have a moment to face, I am aware. But, baby, I’m not leaving.
In addition to his most recent single DAISIES, Justin’s previous No. 1s include I Don’t Care With Ed Sheeran in 2019, Despacito – Remix with Daddy Yankee, and I’m the One with DJ Khaled, Quavo, Chance the Rapper, and Lil Wayne, both in 2017.
In 2016, he also topped the UK charts with Cold Water, Major Lazer, and M, and three more times in 2015 with Sorry, Love Yourself, and What Do You Mean?
