He was a vocal supporter of the Niger Delta region’s rights and development. The Ijaw Professionals Association had celebrated Clark’s 97th birthday, hailing him as a “beacon of hope” and a testament to “unwavering dedication, resilience, and an indomitable spirit of service”.
Clark had a significant influence on the establishment of several institutions, including the University of Benin and the Kiagbodo-based Edwin Clark University.
Additionally, he was honored with the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) and the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON).
