June Lockhart, a famous Hollywood actress, passed away. The Lassie and Lost in Space star passed away at the age of 100, and her daughter paid a touching tribute.
On Thursday, October 23, at 9:20 p.m., a family statement revealed June passed away from natural causes at her Santa Monica, California, home.
Her daughter, June Elizabeth, summed up her experience by saying, “Mommy always considered acting to be her craft, but her true passions were journalism, politics, science, and NASA. She was delighted to know that many future astronauts would have been influenced by her role in “Lost in Space.”
At the time of her death, her mother claimed that June was. Christianna, the Hollywood actress’ granddaughter, was equally as interested.


Following the depressing news, fans flooded social media with condolence messages. June Lockhart, my dearest and oldest friend, would have prevented me from becoming the renowned costume designer I am now, according to Jean-Pierre Dorleac in a tweet on Twitter/X.
Throughout our 55 years of dating, June has encouraged and promoted me. What a fantastic and amazing lady!

The woman who loved to fly has embarked on her final adventure, according to family friend Lyle Gregory, who also wrote a heartfelt message. We’ll miss this amazing woman, mother, and grandmother, and we’re grateful to have been a part of her journey.
A career spanned almost nine decades for June. In 1933, she first started performing in New York at the age of eight. Five years later, she was appearing in A Christmas Carol on MGM alongside her parents, Gene and Kathleen Lockhart.
She had won the first-ever Tony Award in 1947 for her role in the film For Love or Money, earning the award for Best Newcomer.
She also appeared in a few minutes on television programs like Full House, along with Holiday in Handcuffs and The Remake.
She acted as NASA’s unofficial spokesperson when she was away from the screen. The actress frequently attended launches and celebrations with astronauts. Among these was having conversations with Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong.
And she hailed a moment from 2013 as one of her most proud accomplishments. NASA awarded her the Exceptional Public Achievement Medal in recognition of her achievements.
June also supported animal rights. She had previously served as International Hearing Dog Inc.’s national spokesperson and was a well-known supporter of the Santa Monica Mounted Police Horses.
