June 12: Heaven Would Not Fall If Prof Nwosu Declared MKO Abiola President – Oshiomhole

Professor Humphrey Nwosu, the former head of the now-defunct National Electoral Commission (NEC), has been criticized by Senator Adams Oshiomhole for his contribution to the June 12, 1993 presidential election.

The late Social Democratic Party (SDP) leader, Chief Moshood Abiola, is credited with winning the election, which is said to be free and fair in history’s annals.

Oshiomhole, who represents Edo North in the National Assembly, reproached Nwosu for failing to announce the election results 32 years later.

He argued that heaven would not fall, arguing that in the worst case, General Ibrahim Babangida’s military junta would have imprisoned or murdered him.

Also, the Senate rejects Humphrey Nwosu’s immortality motion amid heated exchanges.

On Channels Television’s Politics Today, the former governor of Edo State said, “If Nwosu had declared him, heaven would not fall.” “What might happen is at best that they will detain him, and how do you detain him now because the military has enacted a law?” ”

Why don’t you just make the announcement that the election is over to the presidency, we told him? Abiola was forced to declare himself the winner when he died while pursuing a mandate, which Nwosu was going to do.
