Julia Roberts has posted an ultra rare snap of herself snuggled up with her husband after her divisive Venice Film Festival debut.
The Pretty Woman star, 57, has been married to the father of her three kids, Hazel, Phinnaeus and Henry, since 2002, but keeps her private life largely out of the spotlight.
However, after making her debut at the Venice Film Festival this week in which she promoted her harrowing new film, After the Hunt, the actress shared a photo of her cinematographer husband wrapped up in a warm embrace with his wife during a sweet boat ride along one of the city’s canals.

As he holds the actress tightly in the shot, Julia leans into Danny, who is dressed in a sharp suit, while wearing a long silk, dark grey frock with her legs tucked under her.
Posting the photo for her legion of loyal fans to adore on Instagram, Julia captioned the snap in which the couple enjoyed the beautiful city’s meandering waterways under the stars: “Venice [love heart emoji].”
After more than 20 years together, the pair have solidified their status as one of Hollywood’s most inspiring couples. They met on the set of the 2001 film The Mexican and later tied the knot in a ultra private ceremony held on Independence Day in 2002.
Julia and Danny have tried to keep their family life as private as possible, with the exception of an occasional date night, red carpet appearance or birthday tribute. “We try to protect our kids,” the actress star told USA Today in 2013. “We just want to have our family life and not have that intruded upon.”
Julia made her Venice Film Festival debut with her film After the Hunt, and their recent romantic relationship came as Julia made her debut.
According to a synopsis, the actress appears in the movie as an Ivy League professor who “finds herself at a personal and professional crossroads when a star student (Ayo Edebiri) makes an accusation against one of her colleagues (Andrew Garfield).”
The actress quipped to reporters at a press conference earlier on Friday, “I love the softball questions so early in the morning,” before saying she is glad the movie is provoking discussion and debate.
That’s how I feel about this film, Roberts said, “It’s the fact that we’re not making statements.” The camera has fallen from the sky at this precise moment, and we are depicting these people.
We are challenging people to have conversations, and you must be excited or infuriated about it, in my opinion.
