Joshua weighs in nearly two stone heavier than Paul

For the controversial heavyweight fight on Friday, Anthony Joshua weighed in almost two stone heavier than Jake Paul in an unusual arrangement.

Joshua was required to weigh in under 17st 7lb (111kg), which shows the gulf in experience between the fighters. However, heavyweights do not typically have to do so.

He tipped the scales at 17st 5lb (110kg), with Paul weighing 15st 7lb (98kg).

At Miami’s Kaseya Center, the pair will compete in a professional eight-round fight wearing 10 oz. gloves.

A conference room at the Fontainebleau Hotel hosted a low-key official weigh-in that was only accessible to the media on Thursday morning. Thursday night’s Fillmore Miami Beach weigh-in is expected to be ceremonial.

Paul leaned forward with a firm grip before unleashing a brief, upbeat, and tidbit tirade.

Do you recognize me as a person? As he gestured toward the assembled media, he yelled, “I am him,” eyes wide.

Joshua, 36, never anticipated that he would miss the cap after posting a video on social media two weeks ago that showed him being on time.

However, reporters were briefly left wondering whether there had been a problem when the Watford fighter did not arrive on time.

About an hour after Paul weighed in, Joshua appeared slim and in shape in a quick in-and-out appearance. A reporter inquired about his post-fight meal as he left the scales.

He responded, “Success.”

The weight disparity has been a hot topic for discussion. Joshua is a two-time heavyweight world champion while Paul mostly worked at cruiserweight throughout his entire boxing career.

Caroline Dubois, a Briton Caroline Dubois, grinned as she competed against Camilla Panatta, an Italian, for the WBC lightweight world title.

Dubois, 24, appeared strong at the weight, with both fighters weighing one pound less than the 9st 9lb (61kg) weight limit.
