When JoJo Siwa took to the stage earlier this week to express her feelings for reality TV star Chris Hughes, she appears to have confirmed their relationship.
JoJo Siwa dropped a huge hint about her relationship with Chris Hughes as she shared a three-word comment. Since the 22-year-old and Chris, 32, left the Celebrity Big Brother house, rumours have been rife about their bond after they became incredibly close.
The rumours intensified when it emerged that just hours after leaving the house, JoJo had dumped her partner, Kath Ebbs, who had flown in from Australia to meet their partner. Since leaving the house, JoJo and Chris have made the most of their free time and recently headed on a luxury holiday in Mexico together, where they were pictured kissing.
But now she’s back in the UK, JoJo appears to have all but confirmed that she and Chris are an item. After taking to the stage at Colours Hoxton on Tuesday, she made a sweet nod to Chris, who found fame on ITV2’s Love Island.
She altered the lyrics to a rendition of Bette Davis’ Eyes, which was originally sung by Kim Carnes in 1981, to add a message of respect for Chris. She has Bette Davis eyes, according to one song lyric. The crowd went wild when JoJo changed these to read, “He’s got, Chris Hughes’ eyes.”
She explained to the audience that she changed the song because it made her “happy.” Dance Moms legend JoJo remarked to the crowded audience, “I’ll tell you this much, if it’s not obvious, that ending lyric is very true. Although this isn’t her first time doing this, Chris was present at the show, and she also changed the lyrics on Monday.
However, JoJo kept his presence felt even though he was unable to attend on Tuesday. She brought along Chris’ orange beanie hat in the living room.
She added that she had spotted Chris singing one of her songs while she was asleep. She said, “This morning when I woke up, all I heard was]sings Nobody Can Change me] he was singing.”
JoJo added: “So I figured today I’d bring a little bit of him while I sing this next song.” As her performance drew to a close, JoJo shared a rather personal insight into her life after feeling she was one of the “most hated people in the world.”
She continued, “London, could I just say that I’m going to take my final two minutes to get a little deeper with you all. I’m going to take my very serious thank you. It’s crazy what I’m about to say out loud because I’ve gone through a lot of transitions in my life. I’ve lived through times in my life where I have been one of the most despised people in the world since I was nine.
I’m not requesting sympathy; that’s fine, but I’ve been holding onto things that are beyond my control. She continued, “It was really, really bad when I was 14.” However, I feel incredibly loved right now, both professionally and personally. And just like that, nights like this cause me to cry so much, and I can sing along and dance the night away, but I just want you to know that my heart is smiling inside.
“And I just feel so grateful because I feel so loved and special in this life right now, in movies like this and at home.” I want to take a moment and remind everyone that if you’re going through a difficult time, you can always count on it. “Just keep pushing the troops,” I say.
