John Wall, NBA All-Star, announces retirement after 11 seasons

John Wall, a five-time All-Star and former NBA draft pick, announced his retirement on Tuesday.

Wall, who turns 35 on September 6, last played for the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2022-23 season. Since the start of the 2017-18 season, Kee has only played 147 games.

In a video that was shared on social media, Wall said, “Every jersey I’ve worn has meant more than wins and stats.” It “represents something greater.”

Wall was chosen by the Wizards with Kentucky’s top overall pick in the 2010 NBA draft and signed for Washington for the first of his nine seasons. In 573 career starts for Washington, he averaged 19.0 points, 9.2 assists, and 4.3 rebounds.

“One of our franchise’s greatest moments.” What constitutes an era, exactly. a legacy that endures forever. A Wizard for all time. Congratulations on your retirement, the team shared on social media.

Russell Westbrook was sent to Washington as a result of a $ 2 billion deal with the Houston Rockets on December 2, 2020, which Wall, who did not play in 2019-20, made. Westbrook and a lottery-protected first-round pick in the same 2023 draft were both acquired by the Wizards and given to them by the Wizards.

Wall returned to the Clippers in 2022-23 after missing the previous season with an injury and spent one more year there (2020-21).
