When his mother’s car was stolen and his belongings stored inside,Lucciano Mortimore enjoys performing in care homes, entertaining the sick and the elderly.
A nine-year old singer who performs at care homes has had his entire kit replaced by stage legend John Barrowman after celeb fans shared the story of thieving crooks nicking his equipment.
Little Lucciano Mortimore is a celebrity in his hometown of Undy in Monmouthshire where he travels around care homes entertaining the sick and elderly with his amazing singing show. His incredible singing videos have earned him a host of celebrity followers on Instagram including Robbie Williams, Patsy Palmer, Sugababe Keisha Buchanan.
Robbie even reached out to say that he encouraged him to pursue his musical career as a performer and that he had been reminding himself of himself when he was younger.
The nine-year-old was devastated and unable to travel to his concerts or perform the songs that bring him so much joy when thieves stole his mother’s car last week and left all of his belongings inside.
A gang of masked thugs were caught on CCTV storming the quiet estate where the family lives and brazenly driving off with the Landrover which had all Lucciano’s equipment in the boot ready for his gig the next day.
The youngster took to instagram to tell his 15,000 followers about his ordeal which mum Marise says left him anxious and in floods of tears. But his high profile fans liked and shared his post with their followers, leading the video about the callous crime to go viral.
And one brand-new celebrity follower, John Barrowman, reached out to support the young star, who is up for an award at the Ascona Group Child of Wales Awards.
Marise, Lucciano’s mother, writes, “I received a message in my inbox after watching the video that had gone viral on Instagram. When I looked, it appeared to be a John Barrowman. He claimed the following day that he had only followed Lucci, but that he had asked if he could video call me because he already knew I had run the page.
“Next thing I know, I’m on a WhatsApp video call with John in America. He said he is a huge fan of Lucci’s and that he reminds him of himself when he was nine because he started out singing in care homes too.
“Lucci insisted on replacing all the kit that he had stolen in order to carry on his excellent work. I was shocked.
A brand-new set of speakers, mixer, top-of-the-line iPad, and wireless microphone worth $1800 were sent to Marise’s home after John got in touch with his UK management team.
“When it arrived on Monday it was like Christmas morning. Lucci was so happy, he just kept on saying that John’s his hero. We sent him a video to thank him and he was so kind.”
Lucci, who is the inspiration behind his performance, is now back on the gig circuit, singing with his 66-year-old Grandad John at a Tetbury care facility. “I’m just so grateful to John for being so kind and replacing all of my kit so I can get back to singing in the care homes and doing what I love,”Lucci said.
