Former glamour model Jodie Marsh has given fans a tour of her torched home after a fire ripped through her farm over the weekend, killing two of her animals, which she housed at her sanctuary

Jodie Marsh has shared the brutal damage of devastating fire at her home. Over the weekend, fire crews were called to Fripps Farm in Essex, where the former glamour resides with dozens of animals.

An accidental fire, caused by an electrical item, tore through her home on Saturday after starting on the first floor at around 5pm. The former glamour model said she’s been left “broken beyond belief” by the blaze, which killed two animals at her sanctuary.

Now, the 47-year-old has taken to social media to give her followers a look at the damage the fire caused after her closest friends rushed to offer her support. In a video shared on her Instagram Stories, a devastated Jodie panned the camera around the property, including a bathroom and a bedroom.

The rooms were completely destroyed by the fire, with damage across the walls and exposed floorboards and the ceiling caved in. Jodie, who was in floods of tears, later took fans to the landing area of the property to give fans a look at more rooms to reveal how the fire had spread.

Speaking to fans directly, Jodie said: “Between me, Chris and Nicky, we got all the animals out of the house, apart from, obviously, the babies.

“We got all the cats out, we had 12 cats in the house, we had four dogs in the house, and we had Mabel in the house. We got all of them out between the three of us, as well as getting the fire put out. Everyone was safe, apart from the two babies. Just thank you to my friends again.”

She added: “I can’t believe how many people turned up here, and they dropped everything they were doing. They were at restaurants, they were on nights out, they were at parties, they were all out, it was a Saturday night. Every single one of them dropped what they were doing and rushed here from restaurants, parties, all over the place, they came from hours away.

“Those that couldn’t be here, came the next day or today, some people, we’ve said don’t come, there’s so many of us here, we’ve said come later in the week, we’ll do shift work to try and get everything cleared up and sorted. But, everyone either turned up on the night or the next day and if they didn’t, it’s because they physically couldn’t get here, one person had had a drink and couldn’t drive.”

Jodie continued: “If they could be here, they all were. I’m so blown away by support and love. There’s more and more people turning up now, we’ve got so much help, I’ve had texts from people I’ve only met once.” Jodie explained her phone had been inundated with messages of support, with people offering to help.

However, she became tearful as she said she hadn’t yet processed the ordeal and had no idea why life threw “s**t” at her, given that she often gives her life to help other people. “I will get through it, I will, I will win,” she said. Following the fire, Jodie explained she had no electricity and her home had been riddled with water damage.

Jodie explained that she had also inhaled smoke after discovering the fire in her home. “There’s a lot more to tell you, and there’s a lot more to come out about this,” she said. Speaking on Monday, she told fans: “I’ve given up my whole life for them, and those babies meant everything to me. I am so broken, so broken.

“I don’t care about my house being destroyed. I have lost everything that’s valuable to me – but I don’t care. The only thing I care about is that I lost two baby marmosets, and the reason I had them in the bedroom is because their mum died giving birth, and I had to take them and hand-rear them. They meant everything to me.

“That’s the biggest loss for me. This [her property] is just stuff that can be replaced. The babies dying, has broken me beyond belief. Because I do everything for these animals. I will be going far, far away. I don’t care about my house being destroyed; all I care about is losing two marmosets.”

A spokesperson for Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters were called at 4.56pm to a fire in Lindsell, Dunmow. On arrival, the property was full of smoke and crews discovered a fire in the upstairs bedroom. Crews worked hard to extinguish the fire and stop it from spreading. The cause of the fire has been recorded as accidental, started by an electrical item.”

The farm consists of hundreds of animals, most of which the former reality television star says have been rescued. The animals include emus, llamas, alpacas, goats, sheep, cows, pigs, and deer. There is also an enclosure full of peacocks and chickens, with geese and ducks roaming around.

Beyond the more common farmyard animals, there is a large cage full of marmosets, a small monkey more usually found in South America. There are also enclosures for foxes, meerkats, skunks, wolf-dogs, and snakes.
