Emma Watson was criticized as being “informed” by J.K. Rowling amid their public disagreement over trans issues. She reminded the actress that she is the reason she gained fame and wealth.

JK Rowling has slammed Emma Watson as being ‘ignorant of how ignorant she is’ amid their public disagreement over trans issues. Since 2019, the Harry Potter author, 60, has been very vocal about her beliefs when it comes to the topic, with many of her Twitter /X posts being described as transphobic, and therefore come into disagreement with some of the stars of her films that disagree with her.

Emma, 35, found international success when she was cast as Hermione Granger in the blockbuster adaptations of Rowling’s books in 2001 alongside Daniel Radcliffe and has enjoyed fame and fortune ever since. Despite their differing viewers, Emma recently claimed that she could ‘still treasure Jo and the person that I had personal experiences with’.

But on Monday, the best-selling author – who famously went from living on state benefits to becoming a billionaire through the publication of her magical series – seemingly rejected the olive branch as she sensationally pointed out all the privileges Emma has had thanks to her that have come at a cost of her ‘experience’ in the real world.

She wrote on X that she was unaware of how ignorant she is because she has so little real life experience and, like other people who have never lived an adult life unaffected by wealth and fame. Never will she require shelter for the homeless. She won’t ever be admitted to a mixed-sex public hospital. If she’s ever used a high street changing room since she was a child, I’d be surprised.

Her “public bathroom” is available for one-night use and has a security guard mann out front of the door. Has she had to strip off in a newly constructed council-run swimming pool with mixed-sex changing areas? Is it ever likely that she will require a state-run rape crisis center that won’t provide an all-female service?

“To discover that she is incarcerated alongside a male rapist who has been identified as a prisoner of war”? At the age of 14, I wasn’t a multimillionaire. While writing the book that made Emma famous, I experienced poverty. Therefore, I am able to see what Emma’s enthusiastic participation in the destruction of women’s rights means for women and girls without her privileges from my own life experience.

Rowling, who opened up about her own historic experiences with domestic violence amid her public backlash, then claimed in her rant that she had received a ‘handwritten note’ from Emma, even though the actress still has her phone number, which read: “I’m so sorry for what you’re going through,” but it all came at a time when the author was under fire for her views and she accused Emma of doing nothing but ‘pouring petrol on the flames’ in a public sense.

She continued, “This was at the height of the death, rape, and torture threats against me, at a time when my personal security measures had to be significantly tightened, and I was always concerned for the safety of my family.” Even though Emma had just opened fire to her flames, I was persuaded that a one-line statement of concern from her would confirm her sincere sympathy and kindness.

Rowling insisted Emma wouldn’t have spoken out if the Little Woman actress hadn’t realized her ‘full-throated condemnation’ doesn’t really work when she was discussing her most recent comments on the On With Jay Shetty podcast.

The greatest irony is that, had Emma not chosen to declare her love and cherish me in her most recent interview, I might never have been this sincere.

Rowling, who previously claimed that she would ‘never forgive’ the stars of Harry Potter for the way they had shamed her publicly, signed off by reminding her followers that she has always had the ‘same right’ as Emma to discuss how she feels in public, and now she is doing just that.

Adults can’t anticipate cozying up to an activist movement that frequently demands a friend’s murder, asserts their right to love, as though the friend was actually their mother, she added. I have the same right, and I’ve finally decided to exercise it, despite Emma having no right to disagree with me and having the right to express her views publicly.
