Emma Watson’s comments, as J.K. Rowling claimed she still loved the author despite having very different viewpoints, were scorned by J.K. Rowling.

JK Rowling has responded to Emma Watson after the actress seemingly offered an olive branch to end their feud. Watson, 35, rose to fame as Hermione Granger in the on-screen adaptions of Rowling’s Harry Potter books.

But the pair have had an on-going fallout in recent years with Watson fiercely disagreeing with the 60-year-old authors views on the transgender community. Since 2019, Rowling has been very vocal about her beliefs when it comes to the topic, with many of her Twitter/X posts being described as transphobic.

A number of the cast members of the well-known movies have distanced themselves from the director as a result of her remarks. Watson previously said on social media that “trans people are who they say they are and deserve to live their lives without being constantly questioned or told that they are not who they say they are.”

Rowling said she would never forgive them because of the criticism and backlash the cast members caused. Watson has admittedly having a negative outlook on things, but it appears she has at least offered to help.

Watson recently stated in an interview with the On Purpose With Jay Shetty podcast that she will always “cherish” Rowling’s past. I really don’t think that having that experience and having those feelings and opinions don’t make me feel bad about Jo and the people I’ve had personal experiences with,” she said.

“I will never think that one contradicts the other, and that my personal experience with that person is unheard and valued.” These things simply don’t fit the definition of either or.

I believe that I have a deep desire to love those who disagree with my feelings and to continue to love those who don’t necessarily share my opinion.

And she continued, “A conversation was never made possible, which is what I was most upset with.” However, it seems like something could possibly occur in the future.

Rowling reshared a post on social media while not directly mentioning the comments. A satirist who went by the name Intel Lady posted a video of the latter posing as Watson in the clip.

The mockup said, “Of course, I will never forget the opportunity she gave me when it comes to my relationship with Jo,” according to the mockup. She recognized the significance of my presence and knew she had to incorporate me into her creative vision.

She continued, “I’ll be grateful forever. She altered my life’s course completely, and I’ll never forget that.] But I also stand shoulder to shoulder with those who hate her and wish the worst for her in their lives.

“Those seemingly incompatible two [views] can exist at the same time, which is why I love this incredibly diverse world that we live in.”

And Rowling shared the clip with the caption: “I’m already missing @intel_lady’s Angela Rayner, but I’m here for ALL the spoofs.”
