Following her performance on Strictly Come Dancing, Jessica J discusses her struggles with the UK and how she needs a break as she gears up for another operation.
Jessie J has opened up on her social media and discussed her struggles with the UK as she continues to receive treatment for breast cancer, and discusses how she needs a break from ‘anti-social’ London.
The singer, 37, returned to TV on Saturday evening for a performance on Strictly Come Dancing, following her mastectomy in June. She took to social media shortly after the performance and spoke about how she needs a break from the UK before she plans to undergo more breast surgery in the coming weeks.
Jessie J said she misses ‘my community’ of LA, as she described London as a ‘distant’ and ‘isolating’ place. Posting to her Instagram, Jessie said: “I forgot how anti-social London is.

It’s really difficult to maintain a social life because I’ve been there for ten months. Man, I long for my neighborhood in LA. I might just reserve a flight and arrive before my surgery. I require some battery emoji.
Before her album release later this year, she delivered her song Living My Best Life on the Strictly Come Dancing launch show, where she performed it. Don’t Tease Me with a Good Time is the title of the new album.
After sharing that she had a breast cancer diagnosis in its early stages, the singer underwent the mastectomy in June. She claimed in a video that she had been diagnosed with early breast cancer and was holding on to the word.
“Cancer stinks in any way, but I’m holding on to the word “early.” It’s a very dramatic way to work as a boob. After my surgery, I’ll leave for a while before returning to the Summertime Ball with a lot of tits and more music.
Jessie has continued to perform after the procedure, including at Radio 2 In The Park this month, Ronnie Scott’s club in London, and a festival in Sao Paulo.
She wrote, “Today is the 12th week since my mastectomy for breast cancer and 4 weeks until my next surgery,” in a video she posted at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London.
I only feel as though I’m actually processing what I’ve accomplished in the five months since receiving my diagnosis. I’m not ashamed to admit how proud I am of myself.
After they discovered more breast cancer in other locations following my MRI, they conducted 5 more biopsies in the afternoon, which was the showcase. At this point, no one was aware. Knowing what I have endured and overcame just makes watching this back feel so special.
In everything that life has given me this year, I have done and am still doing my best. I’m genuinely so inspired. Although I’m still very much in it, I believe it’s crucial to honor these milestones. So, that’s what I’m doing right now!
“For me”! For the first time in three months, I’m going to the gym before performing for thousands of fans live at the Brazilian festival @thetownfestival. Anyone who is going through a difficult time and still having to show up for life, have children, have jobs, and other people. I properly hug you.
