Scott Mills has shared an update on his pal Jessie J after she confirmed she needed more surgery after her cancer diagnosis. The pop star revealed she had been diagnosed with early breast cancer earlier this year and underwent surgery after discovering a 4 to 5cm lump.

She decided to press pause on her career as she took time out to focus on her health. Jessie sadly said the cruel disease had “robbed her of memories” with her young son.

Instead of receiving radiotherapy and chemotherapy, the Pricetag hitmaker underwent a mastectomy as part of her treatment. Just one day after her birthday, Jessica’s biopsy revealed high-grade cancer cells in her body.

Sadly, Jessie was recently rushed back to hospital with an infection and fluid on her lungs. However, she is determined to get back to the career she loves as she joins BBC Radio 2 in the Park this weekend.

Scott, a radio host, provided an update on how she is doing ahead of her eagerly awaited return to the stage. She is okay and feeling incredibly upbeat, he told The Sun.

She simply needs to concentrate on her health before getting ready for the tour. It’s a welcome return. That is something I’m missing without a doubt. Jessica had planned to go on an October tour, but because she needs more surgery, her dates have been postponed.

Jessie stated last month that, regrettably, I need a second operation, which should be completed by the end of this year. This is at the very end of the tour I had planned. I’m so sorry, I’m angry and depressed, but I need to be better and more whole.

Instead, she’ll be performing in April 2026. Jessica has been open about her diagnosis of breast cancer, regularly sharing updates with her fans and speaking out about the impact it has had on both her and her family.

The hitmaker said, “Yesterday I sobbed,” during a guest appearance on Jamie Laing’s podcast Great Company. I miss my son and I feel like I can’t be his mother.

“I feel as though my boy’s cancer has vanished from my mind. I once pondered, “This is going to go left and I’m going to die.”

She recalled the news being delivered by doctors as she said, “I just burst into tears. I wasn’t too concerned because the doctors had already determined that it was probably just a cyst.

She said, “I didn’t think I processed things properly because I was so busy with work after the diagnosis.” Just before her surgery, Jessie performed at Capital FM’s Summertime Ball, and she acknowledged that it helped her stay there.

When I was put to sleep, Jessie said, “That energy and euphoria… I replayed that moment in my head.” “I wish everyone who has ever had a terrifying diagnosis could go through this.” The entire crowd erupted, “like a giant hug,” it said.
