After the previous tenant retired, former Top Gear star Jeremy Clarkson resigned and took over Diddly Squat Farm in 2019. He repositioned himself for farming on Clarkson’s Farm, which is incredibly well-known.
Jeremy Clarkson reveals Kaleb Cooper “took it like a man” after receiving a “b********g” on Diddly Squat Farm. The former Top Gear host purchased the thousand-acre Oxfordshire farm back in 2008.
The TV personality has owned the property since it was first owned by a tenant, but since then, he has been working it himself. His efforts have been documented in his efforts to manage it for Clarkson’s popular Farm series.
The Amazon Prime sensation has chronicled Jeremy, alongside partner Lisa Hogan, as they establish the farm, shop, and even a local pub.
Audiences have also fallen for beloved farmhand Kaleb Cooper, reports Gloucestershire Live. The 27-year-old’s agricultural expertise proved essential for beginner Jeremy.
However, Jeremy admits that Hannah Bourne-Taylor, a bird expert, recently gave Kaleb a telling performance. Hannah, a local parish councillor, is a volunteer for Jeremy’s farm’s bird population management and habitat improvement.
According to Jeremy, he planted bird-friendly blooms on his farm and planted wildflower strips in the center of his fields. However, he observed that his neighbors could “afford to do even that””.
Jeremy claims he curtly responded “no” when he asked Kaleb if they could do more at Diddly Squat.
Hannah and Kaleb “came to a head” according to Jeremy, who was picking up one of his fields.
In a letter to the Sunday Times Magazine, Jeremy stated, “Matters came to a head when Hannah arrived one day in early June to find Kaleb cutting the grass fields so that he would have some hay to feed our cows this winter.
She was enraged. He is mincing all the baby skylarks. They are too young to fly off in this field because they are nesting there.
The grass would have been useless if Kaleb had waited until the skylarks were old enough to get out of his tractor’s way before swearing. I told him to wait in the following field, but what, exactly? He was correct. It was . Our cows will appear to have traveled to Mounjaro next spring.
Jeremy acknowledges that despite his best efforts to make his farm more wildlife-friendly, the weather prevented him from doing so.
He explains how the dry conditions caused him to plant “things with Latin names” around his boundaries.
Because “birds don’t like to travel,” the former Grand Tour host revealed that he had also constructed additional ponds nearby Diddly Squat. He claims he has never seen them leave the farm’s hedge even to 100 meters before he recalls seeing yellowhammer there.
