A pair of cheeky underwear, which Andy Hood, a father from Barnstaple, Devon, describes as “self-care with sass” for men.
A dad who credits Jeremy Clarkson for saving his life after a segment on his TV programme discussed testicular cancer has paid tribute to the star with a pair of cheeky underwear.
After realizing he needed to wee more at night, Mr. Clarkson, 53, saw him urge men to check their prostate and testicles. The father then took his gland to check because he needed to do so. After that, Andy was diagnosed with testicular cancer, which he later recovered from after seeing his GP.
If he hadn’t seen Mr. Clarkson’s Grand Tour program, the father of three claims he would never have checked his prostate, seen his GP, or linked his symptoms to the disease. As Mr. Hood once said, “I will never be able to thank Clarkson, Hammond, and May enough for saving my life that day, as I know I would not have checked myself without watching that program.
Check your testicles; if I hadn’t, it would have been much, much more serious. I would never have known without their advice. This website might not even exist because the cancer had spread.
Mr. Hood, a resident of Barnstaple, Devon, has just launched his own line of underwear called Check Ya Balls, which aims to raise awareness of the disease and encourage men to regularly check themselves.

Not long after watching 64-year-old Mr. Clarkson discuss the cancer, Mr. Hood discovered a testicular lump while taking a shower. After that, he underwent chemotherapy and an operation to remove one of his testicles.
The determined entrepreneur, who has three sons, has benefited from his hardship to assist other men. His brand-new underwear features his own cheeky cartoon characters as a humorous reminder and serious message.
In the first month, “over 150 pairs” have sold, with 60% going to Cahonas and Robin Cancer Trust. Mr. Hood continued, “Check Ya Balls underwear was born after my own run-in with testicular cancer.
I made the decision to transform something unpopular into something powerful: to engage men in conversation, conversation, and most importantly, to give them regular checks.
“My goal is for every guy to own at least one pair and we’ll save lives. I had a message on Christmas Eve from someone who had seen all my content on testicular cancer awareness and the importance of regular checking.”
