Freddy appears to be burying the hatchet with a sweet social media post in honor of Jeff, despite recent tension between the Brazier father and son.
Freddy Brazier has made a public display of filial affection after months of family tension, by sharing a heartfelt post about watching his father perform on stage.
The aspiring model, who is the younger son of late reality TV star Jade Goody, posted a montage of photos on Instagram after seeing Jeff Brazier in 101 Dalmatians: The Musical.
Freddy praised his father’s stage debut, saying, “I’ve watched 101 Dalmatians three times.” Some people would say that Fred, you don’t have much time on your hands? I do have way too much time on my hands, I guess!
But I just adore it when my dad is at work, having fun, and smiling. I’ve loved talking to everyone I’ve ever spoken to or gone with, as well as my father and the rest of the cast. If you haven’t seen it, you have until the 30th, so hurry up! “What a great show.
Jeff, 45, responded to the tribute to his son with an upbeat statement that implied a potential for more intimate reunification at home. He remarked, “This is beautiful, Fred, I appreciate your time.” I’m there for you through every storm, and I’m forever with you. Hopefully see you home tonight.
The father and son’s relationship, which is said to have been strained in recent months, has been hit by a difficult time.
Freddy left his family home to live with his maternal grandmother Jackiey Budden this spring, making headlines.
According to reports, Jeff expressed concern that Freddy was pictured smoking and spending more time with Jackiey, who Jeff has a long-standing feud with, and that she was to blame.
He has previously claimed that Jackiey would spoil his sons with “unsuitable” presents, including a hamster, without first checking if that was okay.
Freddy revealed in June that he planned to go to rehab in Spain to treat his smoking addiction after a personally turbulent year.
He acknowledged that I’ve been smoking since I was 12 years old. I relied on it to make me feel sane and somewhat okay, and it was a bad coping mechanism that led to an addiction.
He continued, “I want to be happy and be in a healthy relationship and have a healthy relationship with my Nana and my father,” adding that he wanted to be “clean” in order to repair relationships within his family, particularly with Jeff and Jackiey.
Freddy’s struggles have reportedly been compounded by feelings of being overshadowed by his older brother Bobby, 22, who has enjoyed major success with EastEnders and Strictly Come Dancing.
A source previously claimed that Freddy felt like he had “fallen into the background”, leading to his rebellious streak.
Despite the rocky patch in their father son relationship, Jeff has continued to publicly support his son. During an appearance on Loose Women earlier this year, the presenter admitted Freddy was “eager” to watch him perform in 101 Dalmatians.
