The bodybuilder and actress known for her role in Scary Movie, Jayne Trcka, has tragically passed away at the age of 62.
The star’s passing was announced on December 12 in San Diego, California, according to TMZ. The San Diego medical examiner, who also verified the sad news, has not yet determined the cause of death.
No medical issues that might have led to his mother’s sudden passing, according to Jayne’s son, were known to exist. Before making her mark in Hollywood with her role in Scary Movie, Jayne made her bodybuilding debut in the 1980s alongside Marlon and Shawn, the Wayans brothers, and Anna Faris, Regina Hall, who were both known for their roles.
In her most memorable role as Miss Mann, Jayne portrayed the girls’ gym teacher at B. A. Corpse High School. This was her sole appearance in the Scary Movie franchise, which went on to release Scary Movie 2 (2001), Scary Movie 3 (2003), Scary Movie 4 (2006), Scary Movie 5 (2013), and an upcoming Scary Movie 6 set to hit screens in June 2026, reports the Mirror US.
A San Diego Medical Examiner spoke to The U.S. Sun, “There was trauma to the body, but we wouldn’t be able to indicate cause of death at this time.”
Jayne later appeared on television programs like Whose Line Is It Anyway? and The Drew Carey Show. She also appeared in the Beyoncé and Lady Gaga hit song Telephone’s 2010 music video.
Beyond her brief ventures into the entertainment world, Jayne was also known for her work as a real estate agent in California. As a bodybuilder, she graced the pages of fitness magazines such as Flex, MuscleMag International, and Women’s Physique World.
At age 34, Jayne won the title at the California State Championships in 1997. She won the Junior Nationals the following year, taking home the title, before winning once more in 2004.
On February 27, 1963, Jayne was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota. She started lifting weights after relocating to Southern California in 1986, and she was competing in bodybuilding competitions within two years.
The actress and bodybuilder’s supporters took to social media to express their sympathies. One person wrote with a broken heart, crying, and arm muscle emojis, “Remembering the strong Miss Mann, not just a role, but an inspiration in fitness and comedy.”
Another commented, “Her legacy lives on from Miss Mann to bodybuilding icon.” “I hope she’s lifting in the afterlife,” wrote a third author.
