Following rumor that the couple is currently engaged, ITV’s Saturday Morning presenter James Martin has revealed a rare insight into his relationship with his girlfriend Kim Johnson.
TV chef James Martin, 53, has revealed that he didn’t hesitate in being obliging when his girlfriend Kim Johnson, 39, requested a kitchen upgrade.
James’ kitchen has become famous in its own right, after featuring regularly on his ITV show James Martin’s Saturday Morning, and is complete with all mod cons.
However, after taking on a bread making course hosted by Breton baker Richard Bertinet, personal trainer Kim noticed something was missing.
James shared his most recent purchase for his Woman’s Weekly magazine column, “My girlfriend took a Richard Bertinet course to learn how to make bread.”
She returned from her visit asking for a new electric mixer, so I did.
After almost two years of dating, reports that the chef had proposed to Kim revealed the sweet relationship between the couple, despite James’ previous promise to never get married.
Speaking to The Sun, a source said: “Of course it’s taken James decades to finally get there and friends do share a wry smile that he’s U-turned on his staunch refusal to ever marry.
“But everyone has noticed him changing since meeting Kim, and he’s never been happier.” They continued, “They’re a wonderful couple.”
Insiders claimed James’ outlook had completely changed since meeting him in October of last year, suggesting Louise Davies’ transition may be challenging to accept.
A source told the publication, “He’s changed since he’s met her.”
He once had a fiercely secret romantic life. When Kim wears a massive diamond ring on her finger, Louise, who has been with him for 12 years, will experience a lot of hardship.
Before eventually ending their relationship in December 2023, James and Louise remained together for 12 years.
