James Martin, the host of The Sunday Show, is said to be ready to hear wedding bells with his personal trainer partner.
TV chef James Martin is reportedly set to tie the knot – and go against his previous vow. The Saturday Kitchen star, 53, is said to have popped the question to his 39-year-old personal trainer partner, Kim Johnson.
And James will make a significant U-turn on his previous union claims in any wedding parties. He had previously stated that getting married didn’t “in the slightest” interest him, but it now appears that he has.
The engagement comes almost two years since the pair started dating. They made it official in March 2024, with sources claiming the pair are “happier than ever”. And a source said that despite the relatively short spell together, “when you know, you know”.

The insider told The Sun that James had to work for decades before he could finally get there, and friends are so upset that he has given up on his unwavering refusal to marry. However, since meeting Kim, he has undergone no regrets. They continued, “They’re a wonderful couple.”
Pals had been questioned about whether he was ready to change his marriage outlook. Sources in October claimed he had changed and that Louise Davies’ ex-wife might find things difficult. A source told the publication that “he’s changed since he’s met her.”
He once had a fiercely secret romantic life. When Kim wears a massive diamond ring on her finger, Louise, who has been with him for 12 years, will experience a lot of hardship.
After Louise, the well-known chef, and James and Kim’s long-term partner, broke up, they began dating. The former couple, who had been dating for 12 years, ended their relationship in December 2023.
Before that, James had a romantic relationship with Bond creator Barbara Broccoli. Kim, by contrast, was previously wed to Arun Nayar, Elizabeth Hurley’s ex-husband. In 2017, they divorced and their relationship ended.
James recently gave an insight into life with Kim, admitting his girlfriend calls him a “nightmare to be around’. The confession came as he put his success in the kitchen down to his “obsessive” nature, a trait he joked that even his partner has recognised.
When James was quizzed about his distinctive brand and attention to detail while speaking on Good Housekeeping’s My Life in a Biscuit Tin podcast. He said to the hosts, “That’s what my girlfriend says.”
He then was asked if he was “a little of a nightmare to be around,” and he initially denied that was the case. He continued, “I’m obsessed with everything. I can see everything.
Now that I’ve had my eyes checked, I’m worse. You now know that you’ve had your eyes checked? I had to have the lenses removed and replaced because I had completely refractive surgery. I can now see around corners because it’s frightening.
I can see things miles away, so people are now afraid at work. On a tree, I see veins. Without glasses, I can read. It is incredible.
