After five years of marriage, former rugby players James Haskell and Chloe Madeley decided to call it quits in 2023 and welcomed their daughter Bodhi, a two-year-old.
James Haskell has lifted the lid on his sad divorce from Chloe Madeley in a candid admission. The former rugby star, 38, called it quits with the daughter of This Morning icons Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan in 2023, a year after their daughter, Bodhi, was born.
Bodhi, who they both adore, is still the couple’s child. James has acknowledged that he could have made more effort in the relationship with Chloe, citing one of the causes of their breakup as being drinking. James claimed that the former couple’s final year together was a “difficult period” despite the fact that his love of alcohol contributed to the marriage’s breaking point.
Speaking to the Mail, he said: “If I put more time into my marriage than I did Guinness, then I wouldn’t be divorced now.
I have such a strong love for my daughter and Chloe, but it’s one of those things in life that doesn’t work out. It involves collaboration.
When a marriage ends, it’s all about the kids, as we all know. We are amazing co-parents, Chloe and I. Bodhi is always our top priority.
James also revealed that he’s currently single, having reportedly dated advertising executive Helen Barclay and Big Brother star Sara McLean, 35, earlier this year.
The rugby player claimed that his top priority is “being the best dad in the best order” and that his romantic life is currently in jeopardy.
Chloe, meanwhile, has vowed to stay single. She has spoken openly about the difficulty of their breakup, describing the last year of her marriage with James as “one of the worst periods of my life”. The TV star is not yet back on the dating scene, having remained single since their split.
When a fan on an Instagram Q&A asked: “What do you look for in a guy??” Chloe replied: “I don’t [laughing emoji] I’m very happily committed to being and staying single [upside down smiley face emoji].”
After James was spotted with Sara at the Cheltenham Festival, the personal trainer took to social media to share a very cryptic post.
A sheep with a giant bucket covering its head was captured on video by Chloe, who captioned it “Me.” It’s really nice inside.” She’s at a point in her life where peace is a top priority and negativity cannot exist, according to the audio’s subtitles. She no longer has the same level of energy.
She is merely removing herself from any circumstance that doesn’t resonate with her soul. She’s moving on, then, if you start moving funny.
Chloe later stated in her Stories that she is “more joyful than I’ve been in years and I’m not emotionally involved in anyone else’s love life in any way, shape or form.”
