Watching David Beckham’s football team, Inter Miami, take on Philadelphia in the US on Saturday, comedian Jack Whitehall and his fiance Roxy Horner, rocked up.
Jack Whitehall joked he had to be ‘escorted off the pitch’ by David Beckham when he rocked up in Miami to watch the football on the weekend. The comedian, who is in the US with his fiancée, Roxy Horner, was invited to watch the former England star’s Inter Miami team take on Philadelphia.
Jack, 36, who got engaged to Roxy, with whom he shares baby daughter, Elsie, last year, looked delighted to have made it out onto the pitch, which was about to graced by stars such as Lionel Messi, as he documented his day on Instagram. However, sharing a snap of himself, Roxy and David, he teased: “Got busted pitch invading by the owner and escorted off the field.”
Before thanking David’s best friend and entertainment manager, Dave Gardner, for hosting him at the club in what he claimed was an “amazing evening,” Jack shared another snap with producer Gabe Turner during the performance.
After welcoming their daughter Elsie last year and getting engaged, Jack and Roxy have recently had a lot to celebrate. December . After a few years away from the star-studded performance, Jack returned to host the BRIT Awards earlier this month. He delivered with his sasy delivery.
The comedian was on top form with his script, which slammed a number of big names, some of whom were sitting in the audience. Just moments into the show, he made a pop at ITV – who were broadcasting the event.
Before claiming that the event was celebrating music, with the event being hosted by a credit card company, hosted by the mobile phone network, and airing on ITV, Jack joked that the network had “so many “presenters being” cancelled “over the past year.”
He also made a dig at Kanye West and his wife, Bianca Censori, following the Australian architect’s eye-popping red carpet appearance at the Grammy’s in February.
Telling the Mirror he’d prepared his sassy script for the BRITs months in advance, Jack said: “We have this process where we spend four months writing this script and crafting it all and in the rehearsal there’s this moment where we’re finalising it, picking the right jokes and slotting it all into place.
Then, for the dress rehearsals, I create a fake script so that no one can criticize what I say about their performances. Then, I make sure there are a few surprises for the acts, the record companies, and ITV on the night.
“I like to keep everyone on their toes,” I say.
