Jack Osbourne struggled to contain his emotions and burst into tearswhen discussing his late, great father, Ozzy Osbourne, during a chat with Lisa Riley
Jack Osbourne broke down discussing his late dad, Ozzy. The Prince of Darkness died aged 76 in July this year. He suffered an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease with autonomic dysfunction (joint causes).
His death was just days after he performed his farewell Back to the Beginning concert with Black Sabbath at Villa Park, Birmingham. During a discussion with his I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! co-star, Lisa Riley, Jack became emotional discussing the legendary rocker.
“It was definitely a shock,” he said. He continued: “I mean, we knew he was sick for a while, but it was definitely a shock, I mean, we didn’t know it would be that quick… It was the ultimate mic drop, he did a massive big gig and was like, ‘Alright, I’m done.'”

Jack explained that his dad had done “good” during his discussion with Lisa. The tears started rolling when Emmerdale actress asked him what his father would think of him appearing on the ITV show. “He would be so supportive of this,” he said while wiping away his tears.
He told Lisa that the grief he was experiencing was a “weird thing.” While sitting in the Bush Telegraph, away from his campmates, Jack opened up on his grief, explaining: “I’m still navigating it all, it’s been three, nearly four months, and it’s still pretty fresh.”
“He got sick when my oldest daughter was seven, my youngest ones, they went to a few of his shows but they don’t have much memory of it,” he said, explaining it was “funny,” seeing his childrens reaction to Ozzy on stage at Villa Park.
Jack has the full blessing of his mum, Sharon, and sister, Kelly, to appear in the jungle – with the iconic family tuning in to watch him on the show. He confessed that leaving his family, who are still grieving, will be incredibly difficult for him. “It’s absolutely going to be hard leaving them behind,” Jack said.
He added: “I have got lots of kids, my wife, and my family still in the wake of my dad passing. It is going to be difficult, that is for sure. It’s not the longest amount of time I’ve been away from them. I’ve gone on different trips filming Adrenaline Junkie for nearly two months without a phone.
“I still had access to one, and I was able to make calls home. It’s going to be very difficult not speaking to my wife and kids. But yes, I do hope I can make my family proud.”
The reality star only signed on the dotted line just ten days before he jetted to Australia. However, he “definitely had to think” about whether he wanted to take part. He said: “It’s an absolute commitment, but the real reason why it is popular is people sit at home saying, ‘could I do that?’, so I think a lot of why I’ve said ‘yes’ is the intrigue and how would I survive that? I am very nervous though!”
In July, the Osbourne family confirmed the devastating news that Ozzy had died surrounded by his loved ones. They said: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.
“He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.” Meanwhile, his bandmate, Geezer Butler, said that while Ozzy was “frail”, he had been “thrilled” to get on stage at Villa Park.
I’m A Celebrity airs Sunday to Friday at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
