Jack Fincham hits back at Danny Dyer as bitter rift between former friends erupts

After the former Love Island star’s daughter’s ex-boyfriend attacked his daughter’s ex in a podcast, tensions have erupted between Danny Dyer and former EastEnders star Jack Fincham.

Jack Fincham has lashed back at Danny Dyer after the EastEnders star took a swipe at him.

Since the 33-year-old became well-known on Love Island in 2018 as a member of the cast of season four, there has grown a bitter relationship between the two. Jack and Dani Dyer, Danny’s 28-year-old daughter, were a well-known pair, and Jack won the show.

Six months after they won the first season of ITV’s dating show, Jack left after his romance with Dani ended in December 2018. Jack has since experienced a number of issues, including being detained after a terrifying dog attack and revealing drug addiction.

After the soap actor made some obscene comments about the former Love Island star during a podcast, the tension between Danny, 47, and Jack rekindled. He argued that Jack had a different persona than the viewers who knew him, implying that he had a different personality.

However, Jack has now responded to defend his position by saying, “I’m just trying to move on with my life, I’m not sure why Danny has made a few backhanded digs or insults, especially since I looked up to him and he has had his own struggles much worse than mine.”

He added: “I would also add he is right I was different on telly as that was the real me, no drugs , no distractions just me living life, I let drugs and distractions and bad decisions change me back to who I didn’t want to be. But thank god I’m no longer the bad version of myself.” The Mirror has contacted a representative of Danny for comment.

Danny has spoken out about his drug use in the past and has also made headlines for his relationship with his wife Joanne Mas, who he has known since 1992. Danny was a guest at the 2025 BRIT Awards in London earlier this month, and he attracted attention.

After host Jack Whitehall took a seat beside him, he let rip into current UK Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, to blast him as a ‘b*** e**’. His outburst came after he described his latest film, Marching Powder, by comparing it to Bridget Jones, before dropping the c-bomb.

His commentary ended up turning political as Jack asked: “Who is the c*** of the year?” Danny replied: “Keir Starmer” and said “the world is being ran by b*** e****.”

The moment had to be bleeped out of ITV’s coverage, with just parts of the rant being heard by viewers. In 2018, Stormzy hit back at the then-Prime Minister Theresa May when he slipped in a verse about the Grenfell Tower fire. Speaking for the people, he rapped: “Yo, Theresa May, where’s the money for Grenfell? What, you thought we just forgot about Grenfell. You’re criminals, and you got the cheek to call us savages? You should do some jail time, you should pay some damages.”
