Davina has been very open with about her health and fitness routines

Davina McCall will reportedly eat a simple yet affordable breakfast brimming with nutritional goodness most mornings. It might be perfect for anyone wanting to ditch a hard-to-break habit of sneaking in a mid-morning snack.

The 57-year-old has previously spoken about her frightening brain tumour ordeal. The Masked Singer panellist and mum-of-three went under the knife for major surgery to extract a colloid cyst, a rare fluid-filled benign growth, from her brain in November 2024.

The former Big Brother presenter has consistently been open with followers regarding her wellness, health and fitness, sharing her lifestyle decisions on Instagram, reports the Mirror. During a chat with Hello Magazine, she revealed some simple-to-cope diet decisions that help her feel at her peak through delicious yet nourishing meals.

One thing that Davina swears by every morning is a proper breakfast. She told HELLO: “I would probably have granola and milk for breakfast. But sometimes, I’ll do a crumpet if I’m naughty.”

Other stars have told their fans about this being their morning preference too. GK Barry, a popular podcast host and TikToker who appears often on ITV’s Loose Women, said she’s “constantly on the go with work” so is a “big fan” of granola.

Granola is usually found in supermarket cereal aisles and is available in various ready-made varieties. Some prefer to stick with the plain base, and others go a little extra and create their own personalised mix using fruits and yoghurts for a naturally sweet morning kick-start.

You can pick up a packet of granola relatively cheaply at the supermarket. There’s a basic option in Asda beginning at just £1.92 a box, working out at about 19p per 100g portion.

The high-protein cereal helps to keep the ‘hunger hormone’ ghrelin in check, promoting instead the hormone leptin. This gives you a feeling of fullness, helping to stave off the urge to snack between meals. Keeping this mindset can help maintain or even boost weight loss over time. Granola is also a great source of fibre, which can help you feel satisfied after eating.

However, a word of warning is advised not to overindulge in this seemingly healthy option. Pre-packaged varieties can often be high in sugars and can potentially become calorie-dense and high in saturated fats as we add various toppings, so it’s always best to thoroughly check the labels.

The busy mum pairs her morning meal with a cup of collagen-boosted tea. In a chat with Get The Gloss, she shared that she prefers bovine collagen, which is available in powder or pill form.
