Isle of Man TT Senior race scrapped due to weather

TT IOM

Due to concerns with the weather, the competition’s blue riband showpiece, the 2025 Isle of Man TT, will not be held at this year’s event.

The race was postponed due to slew of adverse weather conditions on Saturday night, according to organizers.

The Senior race has not been run for the second time in the history of the competition; the previous one took place in 2012.

Following riders’ feedback during a course inspection lap, course director Gary Thompson stated that the decision had been made on safety grounds.

He announced the cancellation, stating that “the general impression is that today’s course is unsuitable for racing.”

Due to wet roads and earlier rain, the race had already been delayed by more than seven hours and had been cut from six laps to four.

The 37.7 miles (61 km) of public roads are used for the 118-year-old TT races, with modern competitors completing lap times of more than 130 mph (209 km/h).

Dean Harrison of Yorkshire won the Superstock class double, and Ryan and Callum Crowe of Manx, Ryan and Callum Crowe, did the same in the Sidecar class on Friday.
