As there is always a Alexander Isak’s future uncertain, so Newcastle’s squad has not been chosen for their pre-season tour of Asia.

The 25-year-old striker will “absolutely” be a part of the squad for their games in Singapore and South Korea, according to manager Eddie Howe on Saturday.

Isak has indicated to Newcastle that he wants to look into moving away from this summer, according to The Mail.

Newcastle has been in contact with BBC Sport for comment.

Isak is still on the radar at Liverpool, according to a source who spoke to BBC Sport.

Last season, the Sweden international made 27 goals in all competitions.

As Newcastle began their pre-season games, he was excluded from Saturday’s 4-0 defeat at Celtic.

Hugo Ekitike, who Newcastle had bids of £70 million and £69 million, has been signed by Liverpool this week.

Isak is not for sale, according to Newcastle, and Howe said over the weekend that he is confident that the player will join the club at the start of the season.

After the Celtic game, Howe said, “It’s challenging for me to give a player’s entire clarity.”

“Alex is content at Newcastle. He and I have never had any issues with each other, and he loves the staff, the team, and the players he plays for.

Lewis Hall, a Newcastle defender, has been named in the tour squad despite missing since February with a foot injury.

Which teams would be able to pay Isak?

As Howe attempts to keep his squad together for a Champions League appearance this year, Newcastle have been steadfast in their stance on Isak throughout the summer.

With the exception of selling, Isak is still under no obligation to do so because Newcastle, who are owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), are in a comfortable position under the terms of profit and sustainability regulations.

Most Premier League clubs are unable to match Newcastle’s reported £130 million valuation.

Arsenal previously claimed to have an interest and have the budget, but they have since turned to Viktor Gyokeres and are close to appointing a deal.

Despite having a lengthy contract, Manchester City are unlikely to pursue a deal with Erling Haaland. However, they do have the funds to pursue Isak.

Is there anything Isak missed?

After Isak was axed from the squad, we asked for your opinions. Some of your comments are as follows:

Gary: Gary, if these tours are all about generating business revenue, why not bring your star striker, regardless of a minor injury?

Kevin, I’m worried. I’m hoping it’s just a matter of precaution. If he does leave this summer after all the hard work last year to qualify for the Champions League, that would be incredibly disappointing. I don’t feel any more confident for the upcoming season either because of my lack of transfers in areas and targets.

Martin: He is injured up until he emerges and declares his intention to leave. Stop completely.

Richard, I apologize if I’m wrong, but I don’t think Isak will wear a Newcastle shirt next year. I believe the club will sell, but I worry that we won’t be able to find the talent we need given the recent decline in transfers.

Bob: Is he on his way out because he has a “thigh injury” and is leaving? The fans deserve it, so be honest. There is no chance if we start the season with just one unproven striker.

This is not a new situation because Kevin F. Isak had thigh issues at the end of last season. However, if it is accurate, it ought to have been resolved by now. I just hope nothing more is happening.

Mark: I believe he is uneasy and considering a move to a different club. We absolutely need additional players right away if he does. I’m sorry, but I’m not sure.
