Scorecard

With a seven-wicket victory over the Netherlands in Rotterdam, Ireland placed third in the Women’s T20 World Cup qualifying match of the following year.

Gaby Lewis recorded her 17th career half century with the bat in the 20-over format while Arlene Kelly took five wickets, pushing her past 70 overall in the T20 format.

With the win, the team will finish second against the hosts in the four-team round-robin to claim top spot and one of the two spots left open for the final qualifier of the year in Nepal in January.

With Kelly making her first breakthrough of the day, Netherlands won the toss and went for it. They lost both Phebe Molkenboer and Merel Dekeling for nine.

With 23 and 25 respectively, Robine de Leede and Robine de Leede, respectively, gave the Dutch hope, but when Leah Paul removed de Leede, Kelly took Sanya Khurana, Caroline de Lange, and Silver Siegers, respectively, the wickets started to fall.

After 18.5 overs, Ireland, who had a 110 tally, were out for the hosts, but Christina Coulter-Reilly, who had already been out for two, gave them an early blow.

However, Gaby Lewis led the chase, with the captain scoring seven times before Hannah Landheer, who also took Orla Prendergast’s wicket, took the wicket on 49.

Amy Hunter and Laura Delany had five balls to go before Ireland were almost there, keeping their perfect record in the competition.
