There has been speculation that Traitor Stephen Libby might be dating one of the Faithfuls, but his social profiles show he is in a relationship with actor and artist Daniel Quirke
The new season of The Traitors has been full of twists and turns, with secret links and unexpected connections unveiled among players.
So far, psychologist Ellie Buckley has revealed that personal trainer Ross Garshong is actually her boyfriend, and recruiter Roxy Wilson shared the revelation that child liaison officer Judy Wilson is her mum. Ross’s old friendship with fellow contestant Netty Osterberg also came to light when the show began, which has left many fans wondering whether there are more hidden connections among the cast.
Traitor and series two star Paul Gorton has said the fact that there is a family tree in the castle could mean that “everyone is connected” by either friendship or family, and some people speculated that traitor Stephen Libby might be dating either creative director Matthew Hyndman or sweet shop assistant Reece Ward. However, photos on social media have revealed that 32-year-old Stephen is actually dating actor and artist Daniel Quirke.

Before the first episode of The Traitors debuted on New Year’s Day, Daniel took to X to confirm Stephen was on the show, writing: “Breaking my Twitter hiatus to post this. My amazing partner Stephen took a little trip to the Highlands. Tune in tonight for #TheTraitors at 8pm on @BBC.”
The pair’s social media profiles showcase their love for travelling and for aesthetic things – as Daniel regularly shares his paintings, which were recently shown during a solo exhibition in Soho, London. On his own profile, Stephen, who is currently the only traitor alongside Rachel Duffy, after Fiona Hughes was banished, often shares their trips to destinations including Vietnam, Japan and South Africa.
It’s unclear when the pair’s romance began, but their posts featuring each other go as far back as 2022. Stephen and Daniel have seen several fans comment on their posts since the BBC show began, with many begging the Traitors star to share more details of the outfits he has been wearing on the show.
Stephen, who lives in London but is from one of Scotland’s most remote Islands, the Isle of Lewis, is also believed to have some famous friends. The revelation emerged after he posted a video showing his friends’ reaction during a watch party when he was chosen as a traitor.
The group were seen screaming and clapping when Stephen was tapped on the shoulder by Claudia Winkleman. One woman next to Stephen could be heard screaming “oh my god” while holding her hand to her chest.
While the video, posted on TikTok, shows a joyous moment between family and friends, many viewers couldn’t help but notice a celebrity sitting in the crowd of people. Stand-up comedian, writer and actress Lou Sanders could be seen covering her eyes when Stephen is first picked as a traitor before clapping.
Since beginning her career in comedy, she has appeared regularly on panel shows, performed on Live at the Apollo and won the eighth series of Taskmaster in 2019. More recently she appeared on Last One Laughing UK with Jimmy Carr, Bob Mortimer and Harriet Kemsley. One person commented under the video: “Why is Lou Sanders there please?” While another said: “What’s the relation to Lou Sanders?”
